Mighty Boosh, Star Stories, The IT crowd, quite guilty for liking Total Wipeout and BGT. It's quite pathetic what people do for money.
It's a shame I didn't get into Heroes from the start, I saw an episode a while ago and really liked it.

I'm liking Treme right now, but as it stands it's nowhere near the unbridled genius of The Wire (which is hard because that show is perfection).

And although it's technically not new, Breaking Bad is phenomenal right now.

As for comedy, Community gets that honour. The recent episode was just fantastic (especially Senor Chan).

When I try to think back in to the decade, I mean a lot of things went downhill this decade. Then again I no longer watch a lot of TV, but as new shows go my favorite newest show would have to be "Adventure Time." Though I rarely catch it just to avoid watching any live action BS of Cartoon Network. Other then that I usually try to catch the new episodes of Mythbusters and Dr. Who. Good Eats is also a great show, but I don't think they're making new episodes or not.

Edit: Oh, right. And of course The Daily Show. Though I usually end up watching them online.

"new?" as in in the 21st century? right now I'm hooked on Code Geass (art style still annoys me) but other than that, no, haven't seen any good shows lately. (probably because Anime is still my god)

Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Stargate Atlantis, Studio Sixty on the Sunset Strip, NCIS. Those are the shows that I'd consider my favorite but out of all those shows, the show I like the most at the moment: Sons of Anarchy.

Chuck. It's funny, has great action, and beautiful women.
And Adam Baldwin is John Casey
A millions times this. Chuck was the only show that had me so excited the second after one weeks episode had finished I was dying to see what happened next. Yvonne being so hot helped too :)

I used to like the Big Bang theory until I watched a video where they removed the canned laughter and realised it wasnt as funny as I thought

How I met your mother. That show is absolutely hilarious.
Definitely in agreement here. Sure, it's just Friends for this generation, but it's legen

Wait for it...

dary!

Does the revamp of Dr. Who count as a new series? That's good. As is Stargate: Universe. Also Lost and The Big Bang Theory. What are we counting as new here? Last 5 years or so?

I'm still watching South Park, Doctor Who and Lost (damn is that show good) with a passion. It's true that I don't watch all that much TV anymore, but I think that's more change in personality than the quality of the shows.

I don't know what I'm going to do once Lost ends (only a few weeks now). Probably cry myself to sleep for a year or so.

I really like Lost
Glad I'm not the only one who stuck around. Most people I know gave up some time during series 2, which is a shame seeing how it's probably one of the best shows that ever been on TV.

EDIT: I'm also vaguely watching Big Bang Theory on the side. It's not a brilliant, it's kind of like Friends in the fact that it's a sort of "comfort comedy". Doesn't push the bar to far, just enough to make you giggle. Plus it has a lot of geek stuff (which surprisingly them seem to get right the vast majority of the time).

The Wire.

Simply the best TV show ever made.
Ya? I just got into the show It's really good but I don't know I think The Sopranos still takes the cake as best show ever. What season does the wire start getting mind blowing?

The second is widely considered the best but I prefer the fourth. The show starts getting great when you figure out who each character is and how the plot fits together, for me it cemented itself as great in the first season when they investigate the murder scene.

I literally just finished watching the second season. I liked the first season better. I liked the high rises better than the docks.
