"On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero".... Every intention of having this tatooed on me at some stage.

Anyone played Super Paper Mario? World two, green bridge guard asks you if you prefer red of green. But if you say both...

"Grow a spine! And when you do, use it to get out of my house!"

You CAN LOL at a videogame!

Mine is actually a collection of different phrases from a song.

"It's not the end that I fear with each breath
It's life that scares me to death",
"The time that we kill keeps us alive" and
"When we build these dreams on sand, how they all slip through our hands"

Cookie for the first person who can say what song it's from without asking Google.

" The amazing thing is that every atom from your body is from a star that exploded. And the atoms from your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It's really the most poetic things I know about physics. You, are all stardust, you couldn't be here if stars hadn't exploded. Because the elements: the carbon, the nitrogen, oxygen, iron all the things that matter for evolution weren't created at the beginning of time, they were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars. And the only way they can get into your body is if the stars are kind enough to explode. So forget Jesus, the stars died so you could be here."
-Lawrence Krauss

'It makes me want to run outside and ask people, HAVE YOU HEARD THIS?!'
Also a great quote: From Carl Sagan: The pale blue dot.
He is talking about a picture of Earth from 7 million miles away:
From this distant vantage point, the Earth might not seem of particular interest. But for us, it's different. Look again at that dot. That's here, that's home, that's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there ? on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.

Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.

"If I had the choice between being gay and owning a Mac, I would rather be gay because if I owned a Mac, I would be both gay and own a horrible computer."
"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion"
There are some more but I can't remember them off the top of my head. Oh, and pretty much any quote from GLaDOS.
Note this is NOT intended to start a debate/flame war/etc. It's my opinions and I'm replying to the topic of the thread so please, no whining about 'don't insult macs hurr' or 'don't insult religion hurr' or any of that crap. Thank you.

And before any mods decide to give me a warning or any crap like that (as they have before without a proper reason) these are QUOTES. They are NOT my words, and are NOT directed at any other members of the escapist, or anyone else that would result in a warning and/or probation.
Honestly, those quotes actually made me laugh out loud, any any quotes from Portal/Portal/2 is hilarious.

Super Paper Mario made me laugh a few times, it's the perfect example of a game that doesn't take itself seriously, it makes fun of itself and it's conversations all the time. I wish I had it here so I could play it right now.

I would like to thank the OP for making this awesome topic. So man good serious quotes along with all of the silly fun quotes. and to not make this post completely off topic: "Love is a game where you'll always lose". (My own, someone else might have though of it too though)

Game: Portal

Quote: "You will be baked. Then there will be cake." Right when your about to be thrown into a fire.

I'm the reward cake! The cake is made from people?!... Wait, we have that cake recipe core. Guess humans aren't in it. :)

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
- Dr. Seuss

Most important quote in my life. It is what I try to understand and integrate into myself, as I feel like it can remove a lot of my suffering.
