(Sorry, but I didn't check archive for a post like this)For me, my favorite song is "Little Sister" by Queens Of The Stone Age, because of the wood block, the guitar part at the end, and the lyrics-"Hey sister, why you all alone, I'm standing by your window..."

I would have to say my two favorite songs right now would be Mother's Little Helper and Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones.

Its pretty simple why they're my favorite: The Rolling Stones are my favorite band and those are my favorite songs from them for their subject matter and tune.

I loved when that song came on the radio when it was popular but I can't for the life of me remember how it sounded now.

I don't have any single favorite song. I listen to way too many bands and songs to do that -_-
Same here. Picking one song out a list of 4,000+ isn't exactly super-simple.

I could probably pick some of my favorite songs at the moment, though.

Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones, first of the evil songs, love the melody contributed by the piano, bass, tambourine, bongos and I love the instrumental by Keith. Also to me it is the funnest song to sing too:

(Chorus)
Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name.
But whats puzzling you is the nature of my game.

I haven't got any favourites in particular, but the Safety Dance is good :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w94bvy807fY

The timing on this is just awesome, watch the whole way through.

Also, another favourite of mine (much more recent) is Fall Out Boy's 'What a Catch, Donnie', which is easily, in my opinion their best ever song (in fact, the band have also said that they feel it's their best song ever). By the way, can people please add links to the songs themselves when they post? Much appreciated :)

"You can dance if you want to, you can leave your friends behind. Cause they don't dance, and if they don't dance then they ain't no friends of mine..."

For me, Same Band, Same Album, different song. Oceans by PJ is one of my Favorites. the chord progressions are hypnotic to me. another one is 4th of July, Asbury Park(Sandy) by Bruce Springsteen. I'm sorry, just hearing the lines
"Sandy, that waitress I was seeing lost her desire for me
I spoke with her last night, she said she won't set herself on fire for me anymore"
and
"you know that tilt-a-whirl down on the south beach drag
I got on it last night and my shirt got caught
And they kept me spinnin', didn't think I'd ever get off"

thats lyrical poetry at its best.

Swagger by Flogging Molly. The song only has one lyrical phrase "Don't know where I'm going, Don't know where I'm going". Sums up my drunken antics perfectly.

My current favorite is the theme to Presumed Innocent [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15z3EBY1QTI].
This is just the ending theme but I couldn't find the opening.

'Motorcycle Emptiness' by Manic Street Preachers. The greatest guitar riff, a tad bit of orchestra, poetic lyrics I actually like, and it's a song about the negatives of consumerism (amongst other things) which is an issue I really worry about.

If I had to chose one single song right now it would have to be Honey Bucket by Melvins because it's a 3:01 long song with non-stop awesome riffs.
The lyrics:
Eight times of fel-an-fo-fi
Like cobalt cast and clean
I got a mojo felt the wheel
Real fashion feel
Tri-Jack it, black it for more
Handcuffs with special keys
Triple locked and been down defiled
It's a V. S. I.

Throw a case of plasticine down
Baby I can immolate
And it's rotten in my rounds
Sister's in my way
I'm as fast as my home town
Green glass it most of all
Been around this foreign cage
Villiage in the wall.

How awesome.

Back in black, the solo is awesome and puts everything else to shame IMO
AC/DC: the only good hair metal band ever.
I dunno, I think Van Halen and Motley Crue are good. ALthough VH may be arena rock, not sure.
