Can't decide between the second Normandy and Sovereign, can't even decide whether Sovereign counts or not.

OH YEA! That PLUS this song!

I guess you could classify the Death Star as a space ship, even if you don't though I bet none of you are man enough to fly up to it in your space ships and say that it's not a space ship to it's face.

"Thats a nice planet you have there."
"Oh gee thanks, you really li-"
"ITS GONE!"

So I would go with the death star, just because it can deploy thousands of little mini ships, its as big as the moon, it can destroy planets in seconds with a laser beam and its as big as the moon.

For interior design, normandy SR2.
But for sheer awesome.

You'd shit yourself if one of these decloaked on your starboard bow.

Sort of one sided coming from me but, I'm going with the Normandy from Mass Effect. If only Gaurres could calibrate those damn weapons though.

I won't shit myself I would:
Go to red alert
Rerout all non-critical power to the starboard deflector shields
Arm all foton torpedo's and facerbanks.
Open a haling frequency

Y-Wings from Star Wars.

Sure it's not pretty, but that's part of its charm. I love the exposed components and how dirty and battle scarred it is. They're old but reliable, like the British Hurricane in World War II (which is one of my favorite aircraft).
You know, I have to agree. The original Star Wars trilogy had some really good spaceships, especially the Rebels'. I'm pretty sure I used to have a lego Y-Wing, it was awesome.

Man, I feel old reading this thread.

Anyway, my favourite spaceships are

The Tarsus, as it was the starting point of a truly epic journy, that isn't rivaled to this day.

And the Concordia, as it was home on my first campaign in space.

(not an actual screenshot, rather a render)

And please save me, escapist forum, by not having me to tell you what games those are from!

The firts time I saw that thing in A New Hope, that just sealed the deal for life.

Loving this thread, and there are too many to choose from so I'm just going to add some favourites that haven't already been mentioned (unless I missed them). Although someone already mentioned the Sylpheed, which was what I had in mind until I read his post :p

Taiidan Heavy Cruiser, from Homeworld & Homeworld: Cataclysm. When this beast (literally in Cataclysm...) turned up, you knew it was going to ruin your day. Until you realised you could capture one, of course...

Battleship Osiris, from Freelancer. Carrier as well as a battleship, most powerful ship in it's class, and a cloaking device to boot.

Angelwing, from Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. Infinitely customisable, powerful, sleek, run by a female AI and able to organically assimilate and replicate any technology it comes in contact with...I think I need a cold shower.

Astarte, from Star Wolves 3: Civil War. Simply because if you equipped it right, it was a massive flying shiny tank in space that hoovered up all the loot automatically (The Star Wolf gets an honourable mention, naturally). Couldn't find a decent picture, but I highly recommend the game to anyone who likes sci-fi and strategy/RPG games.

That Andromeda looks pretty awesome, one of the few ships in this thread I've never seen before. I'll be checking out that series soon hopefully :)
