What is your favorite TCG? I prefer Magic the Gathering, personally. I go to drafts whenever the opportunity arises. Close second goes to the Pokemon card game. Say what you will, but there's a fair bit of strategy in that.

I prefer Magic The Gathering, but that's only because I like the pictures on the cards. I don't actually play card games.

I've only played it once or twice, but I loved it way more than Yu-Gi-Oh, Duel Masters, and Pokemon. Who, by the way, ALL STOLE THEIR IDEAS FROM MAGIC.

not the biggest fan of card games, although when I played Yu Gi Oh I ended up with a set of cards that when played allowed me to attack people directly while making my opponent incapable of attacking, and all it cost me was 2000 life points, I kind of noticed the game was a bit rigged in my favor if I ever got all 4 of the cards together I needed to make that happen(that's right I can kill you with 4 cards and you cant do a thing about it).
Well, most people would probably say Magic, seeing as it's been around for about as long as the SNES and was the first trading card game.
I think only Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, and maybe WoW have lasted as long. At the moment, though, Wizards of the Coast can corpse hump just about any other TCG company. If reports are to be believed, they are actually getting more people to play during this recession.

Haven't played one in over a decade, but my favorite was always Spellfire. Magic was probably second. Also really liked a game called Wyvern for a brief little while. Played the White Wolf TCGs also, but really only found them mediocre. Mainly just played to enjoy the artwork of the cards.
I know full well what 5D's is, I watched the first few episodes and got drawn out by the fact that it made no god damned sense. although what was wrong with GX? besides the alien cards, or whatever the hell they were.Patrick_and_the_ricks said:

Actually, Magic went on an upswing when Ravnica came out, so I'm really grateful for the new-school players.
Also, give MtG:Online a try. You play against actual people and you can actually exchange digital cards for paper ones. It's a good place to go when you can't find somebody in the neighborhood to play with.
the thing I didn't like was that they kept adding new monsters with ridiculous attack. the most powerful monster(not counting exodia) was originally this giant moth thing, it had 3200 attack, and you had two summon two other monster to get it, before they implemented the tribute system. Now monsters can get up to 7000, it's stupid.Patrick_and_the_ricks said:
