I played M:tG for so long, but I eventually gave up on it because it became too expensive. I can get pretty obsessive with being the best and in M:tG this usually means buying a whole lot of rares. I stopped around the Odyssey Cycle with a creatureless mono-black control that stood its own even against tier 1 decks.

I was big into Magic, but ran short of the funds to keep playing.

I played a red lockdown deck: Grafted Skullcaps, Ensnaring Bridges, and Fireballs.

The last set I bought was Betrayers of Kamigawa. I do, however, still have the promo foil of Ink Eyes I got from the release tournament.

Red Lockdown was insane. I remember having to force my opponent to draw three cards just to attack.

My favourite is The Spoils. For those who don't know it, it's made by former Magic players who felt that Magic was getting too much of a cashcow(pumping out newblocks with new mechanics, constantly forcing serious players to buy new cards), and wanted to create something more casual. It's a great game, not only in terms of gameplay, but the cards are pretty damn funny as well. I play a mix of gearsmith(small blue elves, that only speak 13375p34k) and rogues.

Been playing magic, but abandoned it since it really became to much of a hassle to keep up with the new blocks.

I've only ever played MtG. I loved it, but ultimately had to give it up because I couldn't afford to keep up with all the new card sets being released.
Oh, I've also played the Pokemon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy Color a lot, but I'm not sure if that counts.

Yugioh FTW!!!! (The original game)
original game? what do you define as that might I ask?
Before GX and the retarted Motor cycle Yugioh (I'm serious, card games on motor cycles, it called Yugioh 5d's)
I know full well what 5D's is, I watched the first few episodes and got drawn out by the fact that it made no god damned sense. although what was wrong with GX? besides the alien cards, or whatever the hell they were.
Yeah and where is yugi, I mean I thought that was what it was supposed to be about, and in reply to the actual forum, I personally liked Yu-gi-oh, and Magic the gathering

Legend of the Five Rings owns all faces. It is a TCG with actual complexity and resource management, rather than Magic's "Eek! I'm losing! Destory all creatures in play!" "You put another creature into play? Eek! Destory that one, too!"

Ordinarily I would post a link, but I think that counts as advertising and the moderators would put me in a sack and beat me with sticks. I recommend googling it if you wish to learn how awesome it is.

I've got a fair few TCGs, my main being Magic, but I've also dipped my toes in the waters of other games (WoW, Pokemon, Duel Masters, Yu-Gi-Oh, along with some lesser known ones like WCW Nitro, Football Champions and Pirates of the Caribbean). Back in March, I ordered a game called Geek Fight as they'd released a set based around the AVGN and Nostalgia Critic feud. You can get it at Diving Dragon Games for $7 plus shipping.

not the biggest fan of card games, although when I played Yu Gi Oh I ended up with a set of cards that when played allowed me to attack people directly while making my opponent incapable of attacking, and all it cost me was 2000 life points, I kind of noticed the game was a bit rigged in my favor if I ever got all 4 of the cards together I needed to make that happen(that's right I can kill you with 4 cards and you cant do a thing about it).
show me which 4 cards and I'll attempt to create a counter-strategy for it.
The counter strategy isn't hard, destroy one of the cards and you've fucked it all up, and since I only have a double of one, and only one way to save the spell /trap cards, I'm fucked if you manage to do that. however, if you couldn't do that there is absolutely no way around my strategy, but I'll tell you the cards and the effects just so you can see that.

water
aqua/effect
as long as this card remains face-up on the field, monsters with ATK equal to 1900 or more cannot attack.

magic, field
this cards name is to be treated as umi. downgrade all WATER monsters in both player's hands and on the field by one level. increase the ATK and DEF of all WATER monsters by 200 points.

trap, continuous
when you activate this card pay a multiple of 1000 life points. none of your opponent's monsters with ATK equal to or less than the life points you paid can attack.

water
machine/effect
as long as "Umi" remains face-up on the field, this card can attack your opponent's Life Points directly.
of course I have other cards that augment that strategy, but they aren't essential so I left them out.

I've given many card games a try (Magic the Gathering, Yugioh, Pokemon, Harry Potter, UFC, Chaotic, Duel Masters, the list keeps going) but I have to say I always go back to Magic. That should tell ya something right there.

Unfortunately Slivers are nowhere as effed up as a Changeling Zoo Deck (especially, after 2010)

Oh and MTG is my favorite. Speaking of 2010, why did they remake Platinum Angel, now just waiting for the remake of Phage.

The first trading card game, Magic: The Gathering. I try out local tournaments whenever I can and love playing it on Xbox Live. I am a Planeswalker.

EDIT: Talking about the XBL game, it really needs to be updated to allow deck editing, not just yes or no for the cards you've unlocked.
