What is your favorite version of Mega Man?

As strange as it may be I think Battle Network might be my favorite mechanics wise. The only real problem with them was the plethora of random encounters (they should have come up with a better system for encounters) and the horrible story/dialogue. The gameplay was new and fun and very interesting. But because of those problems I think I would have to rate them as such.

I hate how Star Force made it so that I can only move left and right in the battle grid. Screw them.

Classic. Without a doubt. There's just something magical about it. It's one of the purest examples of what 'video games' are.

Probably X, but I've only played X and classic so I'm very very biased, I have no idea if any of the others would be my cup of tea.
Also, I'm surprised nobody has brought up Egoraptor yet.
