So I've been looking at some instruction books for reading material and notice some have...nothing in them. But some are awesome, like for me the NeverWinter Night 2 Manual is a fun book to read. But I was wondering what is your favorite manual to read?
Ones with a lot of lore are great, like Majesty's. I also liked Assassin's Creed's manual, all the little notes added by Vidic and Lucy really fleshed it out.
I had actually given up on manuals a long time ago. It seemed like they all just contained controls to the games. I thought, "I'm just going to have to do a tutorial anyway".
I might have to look at my Fallout 3 and Assassin's Creed booklets, if they aren't as entirely lame as I assumed.
The original Assassin's Creed manual was pretty sweet, mostly because of all the extra comments put in by Lucy and Vidic and the like. Made you feel like it was really part of the lore.
The manual for Demigod is pretty cool too, mostly because they put a fair deal of humor into it. Lots of little jokes here and there, which made for an entertaining read.
I've always liked the Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2 instruction booklets. I remember when I first got Metal Gear Solid 2 I actually kept looking through the instruction booklet because I was so excited to play it.
Arcanum, http://troika.wikia.com/wiki/Arcanum_Manual only with artwork. I take it most people saying Fallout 3 haven't seen the manuals for Fallout 1 & 2, F3's just seems like an attempt at being like F1&2's only coming up a bit short, much like the game itself.
I enjoyed the original Brother's in Arms manual, and rpg's with tech trees in their manuals are fun because my brother and I can argue about how to make a better class
