For me, my top favorite weapon has got to be the Dual Wielding Flare Guns in Timesplitters Perfect. The wild unpredictability of them at long range makes them a blast to use against friends because you never know who's gonna die and when. Plus the ability to set people ablaze is always wonderful.

Second has to be the 500 tactical shotgun from Rainbow Six Vegas 2. By far my favorite weapon in that game and just overall one of the best shotgun experiences I have had in any game. Last night alone I had a good solid 21 killing spree (and a huge thanks to my teammates for providing cover fire and watching my back for that).

What's your favorite weapon? Anything from Link's sword in legend of Zelda to the BFG from doom are welcome.

Anything Lloyd Irving uses in Tales of Symphonia. There isn't enough love for twin blades.

The Cerebral Bore. I have the sound it makes permanently memorized due to how much I used it. There is nothing as satisfying as watching that spastic little drill fly towards one of your enemies, smack into their head, start drilling up fountains of blood, then exploding their brains all over the place.

Experimental MIRV in Fallout 3. As they say, there's no kill like overkill. Such a great weapon. Or the Ray Gun from CoDz, really fun to use.

I favor good old melee stuff. Any survival horror game that lets me pick up a rusty pipe is good in my book. Anything I can bludgeon enemies to death, really. Shovels, pipes, bats, whatevs.

Zidanes double sided swords in Final Fantasy IX, specifically the Butterfly Sword. So much cool.

The Spread Gun in Contra, the mighty hammer from Red Faction Guerrilla, and the Metal Blade from Mega Man 2 are all up there, but, if it counts, I'm going to have to go with...

Its your basic assault rifle but the Lancer rifle still had a sense of reliability behind it no other weapon does.

The Halo energy sword is also hella fun to use.

The shotgun in Bioshock. Best gun in the game, unless you want to kill a Big Daddy, then Chemical Thrower > Electric Gel works better.

The meat cleaver from Demon's Souls. I especially like the implausibility of backstabing someone with it because it meant shoving that big hunk of metal through some poor sod's body.

HV penetrator from FEAR. In the words of Yahzee "nail a complete bastard to a wall by his childhood memories." Sometimes I ended up bolting soldiers to the wall in life like poses so that I ended up shooting at them long after the were dead. Some sections with lots of enemies nailed to the wall in varying poses ended up looking like something I imagine Sander Cohen would have come up with.

The Cannon in Torchlight 2.
I just love the idea of walking around with a big-ass ships cannon.

Borderland 2's Butcher shotgun, it's a shotty with characteristics of a smg, and a indirect form of ammo regen.
I'm also starting to be quiet fond of the Valve rifle in Metro Last Light.
And don't gett me started on Hyperion's legendary smg in both Borderlands games.

The pesticide sniper rifle from EDF: Insect Armageddon deserves a mention.
It basicly fires a nuke which can 2 shot the games toughest bosses
(and kill the player if their anywhere nearby).

The Penetrator from Bulletstorm. It's powerful in melee, powerful mid-range, knockback on bosses, and has enemy piercing projectiles as a main selling point. If paired an AOE weapon, you're pretty much unstoppable.

Batman's fists in the last two Arkham games. Honestly those combat systems are the most satisfying ones I have enjoyed in games. I also feel compelled to mention a personal runner up, namely Kratos' chain blades from God of War's 1 and 2 (haven't played the others).
