I'll be a bit lame and say Warglaives of Azzinoth. They looked great and all.

For something more recent, I suppose the ME1 sniper rifles with their metallic "Twang" sound.

First, a single pistol. To a legendary gunslinger, a pistol is as much a part of them as a samurai's blade was to a samurai. In survival horror, a pistol represents a rare instance when you feel like you might actually be able to fight back. Screw the dual-pistol wielding; a real gunslinger just needs one.

Second...no weapons. I find I have much more fun when a game lets you decimate the opposition using just your fists and feet. Kung fu or silent takedowns, it doesn't matter; it's just that fun.

my favorite weapons are always the daggers, one handed swords or Bows for long distance fighting.

daggers for close and personal, one handed swords for close but still able to sheild and Bows for stealth/scary monsters i dont want to go near to.

then its magic. i absolutly hate two handed swords, axes, pikes, poles basically the slow but hard hitters where you're open for attack almost all the time. its just harder.

In Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines
The Malcavian ability Dementation
specifically the level 5 spell Bedlam
cast on a target and they, and everyone around them go batshit insane, suffer hallucinations, attack each other and die

In Boarderlands 1&2
The Hellfire SMG

Well, let's see here.

The Pipe from the Silent Hill series is an absolute. It's a trusty old pipe that does a moderate amount of damage that I had fun smashing disturbing otherworldly monster with.

Another would be the Battle Rifle in Halo, it has accurate controlled burst shots which if aimed at the head, does a great amount of damage to the enemy. Another one in the game that I love would be the Covenant Carbine. Other than its cool design of gun, it's a reliable weapon when you need range and ammo. It served me well in Halo.

The orbital frame Jehuty from Zone of The Enders is a complete weapon all on its own. It is a definite favorite that provides an aesthetic eye candy as well as an array of programs it can execute especially the Vector Cannon. Slow as it is, it does one hell of damage and it's amazing to see it come out.

In Final Fantasy X, the sword Brotherhood that Tidus uses in the game is amazing. As iconic as it is in the final fantasy world, it's something I grew up fighting sin spawns with. It will always stay being my favorite melee weapon from the series.

The bong in Hitman absolution. Because drugs will kill ya.

Also, yes I did spend 5 minutes running around the desert to find it in order to put you know who into his grave.

Cyclone, Mauler, Laptop Gun, Super Dragon, Phoenix, Pin-ball grenades, Farsight, Slayer

No FPS multi-player has even approached the awesome weapons choices that Perfect Dark had.

The rocket launcher in Unreal Tournament 99. Spent many hours side jumping round maps, constantly loading upto 6 rockets into the rocket launcher just to unleash them all onto anyone that crossed my path.

Now I can't always remember names exactly but here goes;

Boltgun in KIllzone 2, and 3: Fire a 3 foot bolt into your foe, for shits and giggles try get a few at once and make a space nazi kebab. It's a very satisfying thing to use.

I'm also fond of the disease gun from Resistance 3, and the Auger...

The VSS from Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Fully automatic supressed sniper rifle, great for being a sneaky bastard and nobody ever expects you to be using it, and I can't grasp why, the damage is very high and it comes with a 20 round magazine and good fire rate, with a red dot it's a brilliant thing.

The Red 9 from Resident Evil 4. Blacktail has higher damage per second? Who wants that! I want the most damage per bullet! And I want it in a sleek nd sexy World War 1 antique. Similar to my fondness for any kind of period weapon, Enfields are also satisfying in games. Like Thor slamming God's head in a car door.

I'd also like to make a case for the shotgun, the very first shotgun, in resident evil 4, for there is nothing in the game it can't handle. I mean, I could use the IR scope to surgically kill the parasites within the Regenerators/Iron Maidens... I could, but at the same time I could also just fire a shotgun at them in panic and kill them faster.

Also the Bros Cannon in the Mario & Luigi games is badass.

The bolt action rifle from Resident Evil 4. That reload animation is pure poetry.

The Artemis Blade from God of War has a special place in my heart too. It's just a big smashing sword, and it's the bane of gorgons and satyrs everywhere.

And ofcourse the pulse rifle from Half-Life 2. The shots sound like they can rip through anything, and again the reload is cool as a cucumber.

For me it's the Lancer from Gears of War. Partly because come on. It's a chainsaw on a rifle. Also, The bow from tomb raider is also awesome.

The Iaito in Dark Souls is pretty high up there for me. The animation of its strong-attack, both one and two-handed, makes every kill seem so much more stylish. Sheath the blade, and either take a quick step forward or a running dash forward before quick-drawing and cutting the enemy down. Bonus point for ending up behind them as they collapse while you sheath the blade.

Give me any sniper rifle in any shooter, and I'm in paradise. Bolt action, semi-automatic, scope, dot-sight, whatever--if I can line up the perfect shot from a distance and take them out without ever knowing I was there, that's all I need.

Last, if anyone remembers Golden Sun: The Lost Age, then there are too many to choose from. The Sol Blade, Lachesis' Rule, Firebrand, Kikuichimonji, Thanatos Mace, etc. So many unique unleashes, and they're just too cool to not want to see all of them.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath crossbow (the only weapon he has).

Because lets be honest who doesnt love shooting live ammo at bandits. Like Exploding bats, machine gun hornets or rabid yet cute fuzzles.

Saregon

Yes.. Swooping is bad.

Klobb, from Goldeneye 64!

Wazer Wifle from Fallout 3 for the awesome name.

The Blades of Chaos from God of War for looking great when swinging them around. Dual-wielding swords are cool. Dual-wielding burning swords on chains to swing them around - even better.

The Lancer from Gears of War, because it's so gratifying to win a chainsaw bayonet duel with another player.

And bolt-action rifles from any game, as well as the M-1 Garand.

I really liked the shotgun in Bulletstorm. ... I was also one of those crazy people who thought the story was actually really deep and character focused if you looked hard enough. It ain't as dumb as it looks by a mile.
Agree. It was a humble story, which I like. I thought Ishi was an interesting character concept in his relation to Grayson. A strong normal (non sexualized) female character. I can certainly see the evil badguy-vengeance plot might seem a bit simple and formulaic to some but I thought it nicely complemented the gameplay.

My favorite weapon. I have good memories off Unreal's Dispersion pistol. An extremely reliable survival weapon in my mind.

The shotgun in RAGE had a wonderfully satisfying kick to it, helped by the fantastic damage animations form the enemies.

But for pure sentimental value it'll have to be my trusty ol freind, Ol' Painless from Fallout 3. We've spent hundreds of hours together popping raider skulls.

Love you, ol' buddy
