Ah, ok...they can't do that either though.
Can, cannot. What do you base your opinion on? I think the possibility of most known species perishing(humans among them) in a large scale nuclear war and the theorised nuclear holocaust that would probably follow is small, but still exists.

There is only the German MP-40 submachine gun. I do have a friend who gets sexually excited whenever someone brings up Panzer tanks, but the MP-40 is just plain awesome.

Edit: yes, Call of Duty may have something to do with it, GTFO we all know that the Germans had the best stuff.

I'm only going by video game experience, so I'm going with the M1 Garand as depicted in COD. There was something very satisfying about that *CLANG* that accompanied the last shot.

It's probably tied with the PPSh, which was probably the closest humanity's ever come to Ork technology. DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA

Well, firstly, from what I've read from people involved in nuclear warfare, if the cold war turned hot, it'd "only" have killed the odd billion or so people. Unfortunately the effects of nuclear warfare have been exaggerated by certain anti-war activists. Now, I most certainly agree that nuclear warfare is a bad thing, probably the worst thing yet to happen to humanity, but over-stating things has led to people believing there is no point preparing or taking precautions, which'd cost (even more) lives should the worst happen.

Secondly, well, you have living things at the bottom of the sea, or kilometres into solid bedrock. No getting at them.

Now, in general terms, there's not much between "everyone dies" and "a quarter of everyone dies", it's a catastrophe beyond comprehension. OTOH, I'm a bit wary of overstating the odds, the more people who try to survive, the more who will succeed.

I'll have to go with the Lee-Enfield, Rifle No.4.
It's a piece of my nation's history and I want one so bad. Just need to join a rifle club...
10 round internal magazine loaded by two 5-round stripper clip chargers or a round at a time. That and it looks soooo good!
Any Mark will do, and if I ever get the money and enough room to store them, every Mark.
......I own one.....you jelly?

Seriously though, it is a really good rifle. I sorta hate the sights though.
Yes, very much so.
I'd get one myself but it's a matter of time, money I don't have, and effort.
I'd have to apply for a Firearms certificate, find two people to counter-sign for me, shell out £50 for the FAC, then who knows how much for a safe, then the cost of the rifle, ammo, club membership fees...
It's a nightmare that I can't deal with right now while trying to apply for Uni and being unemployed.
Well I'm a lucky bastard then. My grandfather gave it to me, along with a few hundred rounds of ammunition and a bayonet. I live in America, so I don't have to go through all those long processes.
Indeed you are. Do you have the sword bayonet?

One day, I will go to America, and I will shoot everything. And I mean everything. Every gun I can get my hands on I will fire. This would probably involve renting an interesting rifle, going to a range, then asking people if they'd like to fire that one while I put a few rounds through theirs.

Can you rent rifles/guns?
I have the spike bayonet.

I don't know of very many firing ranges that rent out guns.

Here is the website of this famous firing range in kentuky: http://www.knobcreekrange.com/info/international-visitors

From what I've heard they have almost any gun you can think of and they rent. So if you come here, that would be the place to go.

Ah, not as awesome, but still pretty damn cool.

I'll have to go to that range just because it's called Knob creek. What a beautiful name.

... M1 Garand ... *CLANG* ...
It's more of a ping sound. The correct onomatopoeia for the Garand is 'BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG-PING'.
