Listening to Linkin Park's 'Hybrid Theory' triggered me to ask this question.

So yeah for me it would have to be Hybrid Theory. Not such a big fan of LP's new stuff, nowhere near as good as the Hybrid Theory/Meteora days.

If you've never listened to it before, which out of you guys would probably be a very small minority, give this a listen.

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory (2000)

So, Escapists, what's your favourite album of all time?

EDIT: Throughout the lifetime of this thread, I'm going to add more of my favourite albums just because I can.

Tool - Aenima (1996). One of my other favourite albums, I was 4 years old when this was released. To me, this whole album bleeds art, both lyrically and musically incredible.

Parkway Drive - Horizons (2007). To me this album is the foreground of redefining heavy metal/metalcore. It sets a standard of metal albums today. Absolutely amazing album, and they are the best band I've seen live, falling short from Lamb of God.

Tigermilk by Belle and Sebastian. Meant the world to me during my formative years and has stuck with me ever since.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac.

I've never heard any other album with such a compelling story behind it. You can really hear the bizarre combination of love, anger, distrust and genius that gripped the band members at the time in every song. And what songs! Every one a fantastic piece. At the time of making the album John and Christine McVie's marriage had fallen apart (due mostly to John's alcohol abuse) and Christine had begun to sleep with the band's lighting manager. Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks had split up explosively and Mick Fleetwood had just found out his wife was having an affair with his best mate. How the record was completed I have no idea, but thank god it was!

I'll leave you with this:

Music with lyrics? I'd have to go with LP as well. most of my preffered music is in gaming and anime, As I prefer lyric-less music.

Pearl Jam - TEN

A close second would have to be Angel Dust, by Faith No More... damn I miss the 90's

This reminds me of in "I'm Alan Partridge" when someone asks him what his favourite Beatles album is. To which he replies "The Best of the Beatles."
OT: I don't have a favourite of all time, it changes too often.

From way back in 1992, "Puzzle" by Dada. I could listen to that album, start to finish, every day and I wouldn't get sick of it.

If I can pick anything from anywhere, then Asian Kung-Fu Generation's World World World. An incredible album from start to finish. If it needs to be in english, then The Working Title's About Face. One of the few albums where I loved every single song.

Either Sepultura - Roots or Rob Dougan - Furious Angels
Not really sure which because I kinda like them equally, but for different reasons.

Moonsorrow - V: Hävitetty (V: Ravaged) [Black metal or somesuch]
56 minutes, 2 songs. Not one boring moment, the first song starts a bit slow perhaps but that 5-minute intro just goes past so incredibly fast once you've listened to it a couple of times. Some of best riffs and melodies ever and incredibly aggressive and painful vocals and screams, the one at 7-min mark is one of my favourites. The atmosphere is just out of this world and every single time I listen to it, it just kind of makes me ignore everything else.
