Rogue in WoW.
He's a wimp that relies on aces in his sleeves, so you can do all kinds crazy shit with him from epic pwnage to hilarious escapes.
I don't think "wimp" fits a class that is the game's top damage dealer, but yup, the design is pretty awesome. I have never seen one like it in other games.
My personal favorite is the warlock class. In particular I love the destruction spec, which (attitude-wise) plays like a ranged rogue with almost no defensive or escape options. Therefore, the destro playstyle is aggressive, double or nothing, all-in. By default you lose to everything, but when you do the exactly right things, you can occasionally manage a truly satisfying pwnage where the other party is left with the (false) impression that your class is impossible to beat. Destrochain ~~~ stunlock.
The cool thing about both of these classes is that they have plenty of interrupts and crowd control, which allows interactive, back and forth play and for player skill (what little there is in WoW) to show through. Not banging out one canned dps/heal sequence and waiting to see whose gear was better.
It's a kind of a shame that these classes are in this game instead of some other game. The lock tends to be either severely underpowered or severely overpowered, in a large part thanks to the game's basic mechanics which are at odds with balanced and interesting PVP. The rogue, played in PVE, becomes a rather dull and one-dimensional damage dispenser. Its interesting (control and mindgame) aspects are purposely made useless by mobs' immunities as well as radically different mechanics (facing, out-of-combat, etc.) compared to player characters.
