Action-RPG's, i can back this up with my Monster Hunter Freedom Unite save file on my PSP which has 2400 hours logged on it, and it was an import from Monster Hunter Freedom 2 where i had another 1800 hours logged.

Then theres beat 'em ups, because thats the genre which God Hand and Asura's Wrath falls into.

And hack n' slash, not the God of War vein of hack n' slash, the Devil May Cry vein of hack n' slash.

WRPGs(medieval and mythological settings are my favorite).
I have a deep love for shooters and action-adventure games as well however. It's so damn hard to choose just one!

No matter what, I can never pry myself from a good shooter. Plus horror games draw me in like breadcrumb trails to a gingerbread house where a nice old lady asked if I wanted scones and candy.

Coincidentally, there goes my last eight months of psychiatric treatment out the window.

Third person games. Doesn't really matter the genre, although a straight up platformer is my favorite, like Jak and Daxter, or Tomb Raider. Skyrim, Hitman, Sly, Uncharted. . . also great third person games.

Shooters and RPG's. Sometimes even RPG-SHOOTERS!!!

Although now days I'm starting to really get into MOBAs. Although I only really have experience with LoL...

I would really like to see an Open World FPS.
STALKER games, Operation Flashpoint:Cold War Crisis/Arma games, Ghost Recon 1..
I consider STALKER an RPG. It revolves around loot rolls and Character Item builds then actual gunplay. It just lacks that crisp FPS feel that other games have captured.

I mean, openworld FPS. Like, straight FPS with very little to do in the way of items and story. Like if you made a 10 mile wide L4D map and put in a few NPC's for looks.

Action-Adventures and Platformers are my personal favorites which does wind up making me like some TPS, FPS, and RPGs. Not a fan of games structured in which you have to grind to certian levels in order to proceed instead of finding a way to solve the problem on my own.

True RPGs that follow the classic P&P RPG standard. Stuff like TES is good for one playthrough, but there is no reason to play after that.
I also don't mind Mass Effect Style RPGs, though the large linearity of them overall and the lack of an open world to explore (Largely in 2, though the worlds in 1 were barren and barely worth exploring) downgrades them a bit. Sadly, even though they are more linear than Skyrim and the likes, they have more replay value in them (Go Renegade Female instead of Paragon male. In Skyrim, you can do it all in one playthrough, though siding with the Empire or Stormcloaks will require 1 save to get both done, even though almost nothing changes afterwords).

That or RTS or 4X. Love me those games.

Fast paced platformers, and RPG's that focus on strong story and character development. A specific example of the latter being the Persona series. I'm also a big fan of stealth, but few developers really get it right. Despite this, I adore the few stealth gems that I find.

Classic RPGs, platformers, turn-based strategy games and probably anything with coop survival.
