Favorite: RPG and RTS.
Least Favorite: Freaking Fighting Games. I hate you Street Fighter. I can't get past the second battle in a story on Easy. I feel like a weakling.

I like all sorts of genre's. RTS and well thought out First Person Shooters (like Bioshock and Half-Life)). I'll buy anything by Valve aswell. I however won't buy a game where the objective is to centre screen on thing you want dead and click, so CoD, Halo and Battlefield
Faves: RPG, Shooters, Sports, adventure
Least faves: RTS, racing, simulation (i.e. flight sims, simcity, and the like)
But this doesn't mean I can't enjoy any genre. I really liked Need for Speed: Carbon, as well as the original Starcraft, and I even had a bit of fun with simANT when I was younger. Basically I don't really like games that don't have a story. Even just a threadbare one. If a game has no story, chances are I won't play it for more than a few minutes. I'm not the type of gamer who plays to be good at a game, or plays for the challenge of it. I just play because I like being an active character in a story, which is why I like RPG's the most.

I love RPGs of any kind, and have a dislike of any and all sports games. FPSs aren't much better but they are really fun with friends, so I'll let them slide.

Overall I enjoy any game with a decent storyline, gameplay with options and depth and some freedom or choices to make.
I dislike games without any story, freedom or choices. They just don't feel like full games to me, more like a single gameplay mode from what should have been a larger game.

My favourite genre is probably RPSs, but I can get sucked in just as bad by adventure games, strategy games (real time and turn-based, sat up til 5 am the other night cause I lost track of time during a session of Civ V) and also the occasional FPS.
My worst is sports games, can't get along with them at all. Now I consider myself to be a fairly skilled gamer in the sense that I can pick up a game and get the hang of it pretty quickly, which comes from having played a lot of games. But I just don't get sports games, and I suck so bad at them (those two probably have something to do with each other).

Favorite: 3rd person shooters or Stealth.
Least favorite: Sport. Unless it's Tony Hawk Pro Skater or SSX Tricky.

Favorite: Action adventure. It's very broad, and it encompasses nearly all my favorite games. And Platformers, since those sort of fall into the latter.

I'm just not havin' it with Sports. I don't know why but I only enjoy Mario Sports titles.
