Hey guys, looking for firearm related advice here (So leave your anti-gun self at the door, in the rain...on fire ;))

I'm looking at getting a few rifles when I hit 18 (Starting to save for em now) which is end of year, I already know I'm getting a SMLE No.1 MKIII, BUT! I have allllways wanted a lever action rifle, just because awesome factor, now I'm looking at something in a .30 cal or even .40 cal.

I really love very unique looking rifles, engraving and beautiful woodwork, but I still want it to be accurate and reliable, I've been looking at these:

Winchester Model 1894
A Winchester, or good modern make of a 1892

Any other suggestions? Or just wanna show of your beautiful lever-action rifles to make me jealous? :p

Are you going for rifles of historical significance? Because otherwise, presumably there's some nice modern plasticky thing with a weird paint job waiting out there.

I'll make this really easy for you. http://www.henryrepeating.com/ they only make lever action rifles and they have lots or selection in different calibers and so on. I bought one of their .22s when I turned 18 and I still have it, it's a great gun.

I only have one firearm, a Rossi model 92 made by Braztech under license. It's supposed to handle both 380+P and .357 but it consistently jams with .357 rounds.

Another gripe is there's no rails on it, so you're stuck using the open sights. The sights are fine at handgun distances but anything beyond 25 yards has the rifle shooting high. I've already got the rifle sighted for max distance but at around 50 yards I'm off by at least a foot.

The nice thing is you can fire (pistol bullets) consistently straight and true.

Another thing, notice the image of that 1892 you have there. See the cord wrapping on the loop? It's there because you end up getting some nasty blisters when cycling the rifle.

Please please please please please please please let the first one be photoshopped. Please.

Apparently Marlins are fairly good, and they have their own look, and I'm sure they come in the calibers you're after. The pistol grip looks pretty nice, imo.

I do really like the look of the Winchester trapper, with its saddle ring. Bless.

But you know you really want this:

Hahaha, googling "call of duty lever action rifle" got me another pic of the same gun as the first image result:
"The latest craze in the realm of shooting competitions, zombie-themed fun shoots, has a new player on the field in 2012 ? the Mossberg ZMB Series including a specialty lever-action .30-30 Win rifle and 12-gauge pump-action shotguns.
Initial offerings include the 464 ZMB lever-action rifle, 500 ZMB 8-Shot pump-action shotgun and 500 Chainsaw ZMB 6-Shot pump-action shotgun.
All three guns have the lime green ZMB logo proudly emblazoned on the receiver and boast the most highly-desired zombie-slaying features." (link [http://www.ammoland.com/2012/01/mossberg-zmb-series-of-zombie-guns/#axzz2Lyg2rfn5])
HOW EMBARRASSING.

Edit: And holy shit, that site's political bent is really gross.

OT: I can't really help you, not a fan. Not hating, but if I were to get a rifle, it'd be bolt-action.

Marlin 336c in 30-30. Accurate as hell, not really expensive, and it ejects on the side so you can mount a scope on it. My favorite hunting rifle by far.

Nope! Not listening!

Those responsible need a severe talking to. You don't do that!

Do you frequently have firearms pointed at you? Or are you saying they're all your favourite, in some weird equality thing? Holding an armful of them shouting "All these guns are my friends!". Wow, that thought process got a bit out of hand.

On topic, Henry seem to have quite the collection. They look good, they're suitable for southpaws, Lincoln had one and people seem to be happy with them. Though on site reviews aren't exactly representative of all opinions. Still, they seem like a good choice.
