I find that most gamers have a game that they absolutely love to play, but know that it's truly awful or an insult to their intelligence.

Maybe there's a game you like to play just for stupid fun, maybe it has a terrible sense of humor but you love it anyway, maybe you remember loving it as a kid but now know how bad it really is - whatever the case may be, what is your guilty pleasure game?

As an example, mine is Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. I was 8 when this came out and it was the first RPG I'd ever played. I was totally sucked into the characters and the combat and the weird variety of enemies. I was actually surprised to see that nearly everyone hates this game, until (after many years of playing other RPGs) I went back and played through it again and realized it was baby's first RPG meant to show us dumb Americans how to play the genre. Hell, it worked on me. Though in my defense, I was 8. I still play it every now and again and have fond memories.

Shush, don't tell anyone!
Haha that was my second choice! I rented this to give something the kids my wife was babysitting something to do, and ended up buying it later. I still get odd looks from my friends when they go through my game collection!

There's no such thing as guilty pleasures, just insecure people.
Fortunately I think most people understand the turn of phrase I'm implementing here.

its just a saying... lighten up.

I would have to say Maple Story..
I never really got into Maple Story, but I can see the appeal - especially for fans of anime.

The King Kong game, yes it's a movie based game but damn if it's not good jolly entertainment just fighting off endless dinosaurs and giant centipedes... as well as recreating the iconic scene by playing as the monkey himself.

Probably Perfect Dark Zero. Okay, it wasn't nearly as good as the original, but it was still decent!

Sigh...

Rome: Total war custom battles.

6000 elite archers VS a bunch of peasants... (or something similar)

I dont know why I do it. I just do

OMG I loved that game also XD it was simple, but it was a great first step into rpg's, i still play it every few years to re-live old memories :)
