You have no idea how much I want to be Matt Smith in that avy.
I have a really massive man crush on Tennant.

OT: Fantasise about David 'Ten-Inch' Tennant, trawl here chatting to friends and, if time allows, a quick listen of music then sleep for about 9 hours.

When I'm starting to fall asleep I start to do Algebra II problems in my head for some reason, and I literally have no idea as to why.

This is going to sound wrong, but it's either reading, masturbating, or watching Zero Punctuation.
Right, sorry, I have to roll my tongue back into my face now.

Now, on topic... I usually check my email, come on here and see what's new, and recently I've been slogging away at a new game file in Windwaker, which is fantastic. Sometimes I'll read a couple articles from an issue of Macleans I haven't finished yet, but that doesn't happen as often as it should.

Assuming "fuck" isn't one of the available choices, I find that cueing up old Mythbusters episodes on my computer distracts my overactive mind just enough that I can get to sleep.

I either do my Algebra homework or watch TV, usually. I sometimes pick up my PSP or something, but that usually wakes me up too much.

The best sleep I've ever gotten has been after lying in bed with my boyfriend talking about anything that crosses our minds (yes, this usually comes after the bom chicka wow wow, but still. Good conversation helps me wind down).

Usually, if I'm on my own, I read a few chapters of a book or fiddle with things online.

My floor is littered with comic books and a meter stick. I cover myself up with blankets, my dog usually going between my legs and curling up (don't make a joke, I just winced because that sounds like a painful joke), rummage through my comics for a while before coming up with something without too much dialogue but still fucking awesome (The recent Spider-man comic, unless one came out this week, is my current pre-sleep comic, starring the Lizard), and reading through that before using the meter stick to turn the lights off and shift uncomfortably for a little while and making my poor dog change positions repeatedly.

My reading time is on the bus, with Wheel of Time right now.

I'm doing it right now. Cruising the Escapist forums, chuckling at the witty posts. Either that, or watch the Colbert Report (or both, like I will tonight). Then I brush my teeth, max out on pull-ups on the bar outside my room, disrobe, and crash into bed.

Before I go to bed every night I either read or play a hand held console, but I was recently told that this stimulates your brain and makes harder to fall asleep to.

Basically I'm just wondering what other people do to relax before they go to bed?

EDIT: Some things are best left unsaid. Try to keep it tasteful.
Yeah, browsing or doing something in a laptop, also not useful.
Reading has also been too stimulating apparently for my brain, because I've been up to 5am reading a couple of nights.
However, playing Phoenix Wright does it for me, I fall asleep kinda quick, also, watching comedies in a dimmed laptop screen.
Doing excercise like an hour before going to bed leaves you tired and you'll fall asleep quicker, btw.

Before I go to sleep: I will usually double check on anything time related, such as Mafia Wars and make sure my torrents are good for the night (I try to balance my seeding).

Sometime before I sleep usually a quick thought will run through my head, such as, in a parallel universe where I could be somewhere else, actually doing something productive with my life, after a few seconds normal apathy sets in though.

On a last note, I like to play ambient music on my laptop or speakers... it is very relaxing.

Sleep would be nice. I tend to stay awake until my mind is too tired to be paranoid. Usually takes several hours.

Watch a documentary, when you sleep your brain gets smarter thinking about subjects from a recently informed viewpoint
What sort of documentary? Historical/natural etc?
Usually Space or science at least, BBC ones are good if you want to get away from the "Let's take a walk on this beach and now we are flying through space" bullshit that american doc's all have, I actually watched an american Stephen Hawking doc and they had some american talking instead, wtf!
