As the title suggests, what do you think of whatever game you are currently playing?

I just started playing Catherine for the first time, and I just finished the second level. It's... interesting, to say the least, but I'm actually digging the block-based puzzles. I'm not far enough into the story yet to really give an opinion on it, but if nothing else, the gameplay is addictive, and I'll probably finish the game for that, if nothing else.

I'm currently having a run through of Sonic Generations on PC.
I'm loving the touch of the revamped classic Sonic and the more modern Sonic. The story is a bit iffy though. The levels included in the first few levels have been great as it is a trip down memory lane of my favourite game Sonic Adventure 2: Battles on Gamecube.

The gameplay is extremely addicting and the story is doing an alright job of keeping me interested :D

Professor Layton and the Last Spectre.

Fairly entreating, but I grind my teeth at the trick questions, such as a problem concerning light bulbs going out and being replaced and being asked how many are on after so many hours, only for the answer to be 0 because it's day.

I'm playing Planescape Torment and Deus Ex human Revolution.

Torment: Interesting story so far, very interesting and fleshed-out setting, well written dialogue. However, combat sucks an arse and the interface is absolutely woeful. Also, I really don't like the old-timey voiceless dialogue system. It feels like navigating an options menu rather than conducting a conversation.

Human Revolution: Really good. Big intricate environments to explore, well implemented stealth system, decent story. I don't mind the boss fights, they make for a nice change of pace. The ending(s) suck though. Also, characters are poorly animated during dialogue.

I'm playing Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7...

DON'T JUDGE ME!

It's actually pretty fun and I like the fact they use music from the movies.

I've started playing the 'Sam and Max Save the World' series. I just finished episode 2 of season 1.

So far it is actually pretty fun, of course being a 'Point and Click Adventure' it has it's moments that give me frustration. Not that it matters too much. The dialogue between the titular heroes is keeping me pretty entertained. It's also interesting how so far it has something of a story arch going along, unless I'm just looking to hard. None-the-less, I pretty good game. =)

I saw that game on steam yesterday, has it got the humour of the other lego games?

Deus Ex

boooriiing... I kinda expected as much which is why I waited for it to be on discount at first. I find it a bit, stiff, and formulaic. The characters are jerky, low res textures, the guns are standard and rather boring (except the PEPS which I wish I had more ammo for), the multi-path system comes up on a lot of situations where there is only one option (for the pilots side quest there's a console you have to hack at security level 3, you're screwed if you don't have it), to save the pilot you need an EMP grenade or a rocket launcher to take out the mech, nether of which I had, so had to run away like a chicken even though I'd rather have saved her.

Played the first 1 and all over Lego games to death to be honest. Didn't know whether this one was going to be good or not so I resisted. Don't think I'll be able to now... oh well :p

Mass Effect 2 and Skyrim.

I'm just going to go ahead and say that I'm not enjoying Skyrim; the characters aren't interesting, neither is the story and I just don't like the look of the game (well the actual scenary is beautiful but it's more to do with the aesthetic of everything) There is nothing encouraging me to want to go through the various stories or go dungeon crawling. The only thing I'm looking forward to are the Daedric quests; they're usually the best part anyway...that, and meeting M'aiq, the only character in any Bethesda game that I've liked.

Mass Effect 2 on the other hand I am enjoying quite a lot. The characters are interesting and the loyalty missions are well designed. The story is...there but I'm more interested in the characters than anything else. I went with female Shepard (which is strange as I usually play as a male first) and I'm romancing Thane because he seemed really interesting and his loyalty mission seemed to be based on one of my favourite songs.

[sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][sub]...I'm also playing/reading/experiencing Katawa Shoujo, which is quite good...that's a game right?[/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]

Mass Effect 2: Pretty fun so far. At first I was a bit skeptical about having to actually use ammo, but that rarely becomes a problem and the rest of the battle and equipment systems have been streamlined and are now exponentially better. I love being able to sprint, I do not love how it's often very difficult to tell the difference between something you can jump in and something you can't. I also miss having direct control over healing (though that's probably because the only other FPS's I've ever extensively played are HL2 and TF2).

I'm doing pretty well with the rest of the interface changes, as well. I miss being able to set destinations on the map, but the map appearance has been improved and the galactic map has been vastly improved by marking your next mission. I do feel like the whole world is smaller, though. Maybe it's because I haven't made much of an effort to explore outside mission worlds yet, but I feel like the whole place has just shrunk. I hate having to steer the stupid ship around on the map like some chesspiece, actually plotting your course and then going feels much more natural to me. But, again, I love seeing on the map where my objectives are.

The characters...I love the Professor, Jack seems interesting, I've only just met Grunt, and I'm lukewarm on Miranda and Jacob. I'm beginning to like Jacob a bit more now that I've seen a bit of his personal life, though, so maybe I need to do Miranda's mission too. Oh, and I chose Femshep, as I did in the first game.

But overall I'm pretty addicted, I'm going to go play it a bit more right now :3

I'm catching up on Assassins Creed: Brotherhood at the moment and really enjoying it - probably a bit past halfway through. I knew going in that it was basically just getting more of AC:2 so that wasn't the disappointment for me that some people probably thought it was.

The story is getting a bit lost at the point I'm at, but I like that it's not skipping forward several years at random junctures. So yeah, enjoying it a lot overall.

Fallout: NV when my PC is free, and LA Noire when my PS3 is free.

Haven't gotten very far into Fallout yet because when I get excited and start clicking on buttons too noisily my son wakes up (very light sleeper - in the room next door). Going through LA Noire with my wife (she studied psych at uni and so loves trying to analyse everyone in the interrogations).

Definitely enjoying both. I know Fallout NV is aimed at a wider market than LA Noire, but I would have preferred to see more of the brutality of *pre-apocalyptic* California displayed in *post-apocalyptic* Nevada. Fallout keeps trying to be dark, but it never really gets there for me. The quirkiness is right, but I hardly feel like shit is really *that* bad since Fallout 2.

I've had no choice but to throw in a heap of mods, mostly upping damage to ridiculous levels (any firearm is pretty much a 1 or 2 hit kill on a human target in anything less than power armour). Makes gun fights a lot more risky, and makes me much more careful when approaching someone 'out on the road' (if they draw first I'm likely dead).

Uncharted 3 first time playing an Uncharted game I don't like the main dude he seams like a smug douche bag. Also I think I would have just as much fun watching it as playing it. So far not liking it.

World of Warcraft, my first time back in over a year, so this is my first look at the revamped world.

The next time I'm looking for an illustration of why the rise of the 'casual' gamer is a bad thing I'll look no further than Cataclysm. The zones have been ridiculously streamlined and it's sucked the life out of Azeroth. Over scripted, over linear, tries too hard to be funny and usually fails, and it's ludicrously easy, to the point it is virtually impossible to die when running regular quests.

And the levelling speed is insane - like 3 or 4 times faster than pre-Cata. I can't get the atmosphere of any zone because I'll be out of it in a matter of hours.

Gameplay wise it's as sound as ever (facerolling easiness aside) but at this point I'm just going on so I can reach Outland (which hasn't been ruined updated) and I think that'll be my last hurrah on WoW.

Which saddens me, because although I don't play it often, I've always enjoyed the time I did spend in WoW, and considered it an absolutely brilliant piece of MMO design.

Just finishing playing a bit of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, going through some of the sequences again to get 100% Synchronization. It's probably my least favourite in the series so far but I'm still relatively enjoying it. Now onto a different assassin for number 3, Ubisoft!
