What is your least favorite movie remake?

Has to be that horrible Planet of the Apes crap that came out. It sad when the low budget versions of the movie series that came out 30 years plus are better than the recent remake.

Tim Burton really needs to go back to making original movies again. His original movies are always outstanding. Now they're remaking his first movie, Frankenweenie.

Sometimes I like re-makes more than the original (Brewsters Millions is a good example) but I tend to especially not like horror re-makes; especially of classics like Psycho, Godzilla, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Chainsaw Massacre.

I'm really worried about the I Spit on Your Grave remake. They should've left that one alone. I have a bad feeling that will top Godzilla as worst remake ever; unless you count the live action Fist of the North Star movie but I think that was made for TV so it doesn't really count.

The Gate I'm feeling a bit more optimistic about because I like the director, who you probably know as Bill S. Preston Esq.

Strictly speaking Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland weren't remakes; the former was a different adaptation of the source material and the latter a sequel.

And both proved that Tim Burton is vastly overrated.

OT:

Italian Job. Never seen Burton's rape of Chocolate Factory, but it'd have to try pretty damn hard to be worse than that... Thing.

I want to say The Wicker Man, but that movie is just too funny. Instead I'll say King King, which totally avoided the essence of the original.
