Homophobia.
I guess I should state at this point, before people misconstrue this post, that I have nothing against Homosexuality. I shouldn't have to say this, but I realize a lifetime of persecution inevitably leads to a degree of paranoia. Which is probably healthy in this case.
I just don't like the word. It's a bastardization of the original language (I can never remeber if it's Latin or Greek) and literally means "Fear or something similar". (Homo = Similar, Phobia = Fear) I mean, in the context "Hetrophobia" (the fear of something different) would make more sense.
I suggest to have this word replaced with the term "Sexualism". If anything, calling an irrational hatred a "phobia" only legitimises it.
