Id say chicken Invaders. I dont really konw why, but for about 3 weeks (maybe more, lost track of time) i would pretty much play it constantly. to the point of giving up other, far more sophisticated games.

It was very simple, but every time i played i got the tiniest bit better. So i guess its about the challenge for me. Simplicity helps. Elder scrolls games are way too complicated for me to get really wrapped up in them.

Hexic is damn addicting. I always resent it when I see it on my hard drive, but I start playing it soon enough! I just wish I was any good at it...

Fallout 3

Its a game that demands to be played for hours and hours on end. There is something addictive about exploring the wastleland and seeing what you come across. I try to avoid using the fast-travel system as much as possible so my exploits turn into long, adventerous treks.

I haven't actually played that far into the game as of writting this post but from what I've played this game seems so awesome.
this for the openworld and because its fallout 3 god this was vaporware for ages the campaign was way too short though then again i loved the story OT fallout 2 great story with a massive and deep world that you can lose yourself for months in

#1: Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

#2: Fun gameplay mixed with the element of randomness. Would Tetris be extremely popular if there was a pattern to what block formations would come down? No, it wouldn't.

Aye, it's Fallout 3. The game I've played for 404 hours (According to Xfire) ... Damn, I need to go out sometime.
Yea, a month after getting fallout 3 my wife said I started to look (and smell) like a vault dweller... So I went out with some friends, when I got back, she was addicted to it.
The game I was most addicted to before that was probably gta San Andreas.

Pokemon, MLB 10, Heli Attack 2.

To be addictive, it needs to have fun gameplay.

MMO-wise I'd have to say City of Heroes. I was hooked on that for 3-4 years. Other than that, I'd say Borderlands, Fallout 3 and Star Wars Battlefront II on the PS2.

World of Warcraft again.

I think what hooks me to a game (as long as it passes the first hurdle of bing fun ofc) is just having lots of "stuff" to do. I'm one of those what has to do everything, see every corner of a game, and collect all of the best stuff. The constant new content, random pop-culture references and massive numbers of achievements for stupid things you'd never even thought to try, just keeps me logging on.

I've been playing Pokemon for the past few weeks. One day it's HeartGold, another day it's Emerald. I just love the games too much to put them down.
