17 so far, I'm gonna try to rank them, but the top and bottom few are pretty much interchangeable.
17. Prototype
Prototype looks fun in a Crackdown kind of way, but I dunno how long the fun will last. InFamous isn't on this list because the electricity sound became annoying after 2 minutes, let alone 6 hours.
16. Wolfenstein
Return To Castle Wolfenstein was one of my first forays into modern FPS gaming, so the new Wolfenstein has a lot to live up to. Holding out for some details though.
15. L.A. Noire
The first trailer for this certainly intrigued me, and I love the noir genre in general.
14. Eat Lead: The Return Of Matt Hazard
Looks like a less serious game, which will hopefully be a breath of fresh air after the seriousness of the majority of this list.
13. Heavy Rain
I enjoyed Fahrenheit until the last act went all kinds of stupid, and I hope Heavy Rain is more consistent. Unfortunately, it looks like the game is entirely made up of QTEs.
12. I Am Alive
The trailer was very interesting, and everything I've read points to this having lots of potential.
11. Borderlands
Again, an interesting idea and trailer, but I want to see gameplay footage before this goes further up my list.
10. God Of War III
God Of War II's cliffhanger ending was amazing, so I can't wait to see how it ends.
9. F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin
F.E.A.R was a pretty good shooter/horror game. Hopefully, the sequel will implement the horror sections better.
8. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion
I only recently discovered Ultimate Alliance, which is strange considering how geeky I am. Putting together my dream team of Ghost Rider, Blade, Deadpool and Wolverine has been amazing fun. Hopefully, the franchise can only go up from here.
7. Chronicles Of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena
Escape From Butcher Bay was one of my favourite games of last generation, so an HD remake along with a sequel will certainly be welcome in my collection.
From this point on, I'm pretty much anticipating all these games equally, so ignore the ranking. It's just randomised.
6. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call Of Duty 4 was a pleasant surprise for me, because I don't normally enjoy shooters set in modern times. The narrative and characters kept me hooked throughout, and I wanna know if Mile High Club will factor into MW2's story.
5. Killzone 2
I really enjoyed Killzone, and I don't care that it got such mediocre reviews. As such, I'm looking forward to taking the fight to Helghan. I haven't watched too much gameplay because I don't wanna spoil it, but what I've seen looks visceral and brutal, like Call Of Duty in space.
4. Aliens: Colonial Marines
Aliens is my third favourite film of all time and Battlestar Galactica is my favourite TV show currently, so a game based off Aliens written by BSG writers will be interesting. It looks to be combining my two favourite genres (horror and FPS), and if it's half as good as the marine sections in the old AVP games, I'll love it.
3. Brutal Legend
I love metal and I love Psychonauts, so the setting and humour of this game should almost certainly be excellent. The only thing I can see dampening the experience is the gameplay. It looked a little underwhelming in the trailer. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong, and Brutal Legend will be the hit that Tim Schafer deserves.
2. Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil 4 sits comfortably in my top 10 games of all time, so I'm hoping against all odds that Resident Evil 5 will knock it down a notch. The setting doesn't interest me quite as much as Resi 4's did, and I can't see there being any bit like the farmhouse, although hopefully it won't have a stupid island base at the end.
1. Batman: Arkham Asylum
A serious house on serious earth. One of my favourite comics of all time is being sourced for a stealth action game. I'm hoping it'll play somewhat like Thief or Splinter Cell. The fact that they got Mark Hamill on board to voice the Joker gives me great hope too.
I will note that if Alan Wake was confirmed as being released this year, it would be top of my list. I'm also looking forward to GTA Lost & Damned, but since it's an expansion, it's not on my list.
