Insert stereotype here- long time watcher, "first" time poster. Since I'm new here, I wanted to check the pulse of the Escapist; so I was wondering - why do you all choose to spend your time here on the Escapist Forum?

My personal reason is that while I watched Zero Punctuation from the beginning, I didn't join for years because of apathy. Yesterday though, I saw a topic I wanted to respond to, and so I joined to respond to it. I'm staying because now I'm curios about how the whole "Forum" thing will go.


So what about you?

Well, when I'm at work, I usually finish everything 4 hours before I can go home so I just come here (and a few other sites) to pass the time.
As with any site populated by geeks and nerds, there are some people here with extensive knowledge in various fields so I can mess around AND learn something at the same time.
