People in my state believe women who get raped can't get pregnant, and if they do get pregnant it probably wasn't rape.
Thank you so much for that, Todd Akin.
Yeah, that guy's an idiot. Still I'm not sure if that really reflects as badly on Missouri as it does Republicans in general (a little of both probably.) I've been to Missouri and there are some frankly beautiful places to visit there. I'm from just to the left of you on the map.
Kansas... even though we're in the center of the continental US, no one seems to have heard of us. The Wizard of Oz thing gets brought up a lot. TV gets us wrong a lot. According to Smallville there's a little town in Kansas that's somehow within easy driving distance of New York (Metropolis) either that or they could ALL fly. According to a road sign in Jericho's first episode, Jericho Kansas is where Ponca City Oklahoma is IRL. Oh and another *edit* (this is about the 4th one) according to Jericho you can see the Rockies from western Kansas (where they thought they put Jericho.) At the western border of Kansas you still have a hundred miles of Colorado to go through to get to the Rockies. Can't see 'em from here.
And the weirdest one... on 2 separate occasions someone visiting Kansas asked me if it was safe to go to Dodge City. Because (I guess) of the reputation it had as a tough town back in the 1880's. Sorry to disappoint, but Dodge City is really only a little town that smells of stockyard cow shit and the kill floor of a processing plant. Or as the locals say... "smells like money." Oh, and lots of folk make the mistake that Kansas City is actually in Kansas, where in reality only about a fifth (or so) actually is. The rest is all your's JimB.

America is the joke.
Buh-dum-tish.
Y'know... I don't know my state's stereotypes. Quick, someone tell me why we Coloradans suck.
Sorry dude, can't help ya. A lot of us here go to your state (or JimB's) on vacations and the like. And we may give Missouri a hard time, (they deserve it, they burned down one of our University towns a couple of times... kidding that was a long time ago and we can laugh about it now) I really have not heard anyone say anything bad about CO. Skiing, mountains, resorts... what's not to like. I even love catching the occasional Avalanche game. I got nothing to add as a stereotype. Can yall ski. We yall tawlk like this.
