What is your symbol of death?

I'd have gone with a lone sapling after a bushfire, but this'll have to do.

Death can be taken in two ways here:
1) We are all insignificant and equal in the face of death:
A sapling's death is no different from a full-grown tree's - the end result is that they're both dead.
2) Death is just part of life. The end of a phase leads into the beginning of a new one: Bushfires leave the land scorched and take many lives, but effectively clear out and help decompose old organic matter into nutrients. Some plants require smoke to help them reproduce.

I'm damn sure it's a reference/subtle hint towards Vic Rattlehead. It's not everday you see a skeleton looking alike. Then again I could have misinterpreted it but me and a few other people on the good old 'net are going to see it as that. I like how I blunder into this topic while listening to the Persona 3 final boss theme. Speaking of.

It's cliche but the skull, it's like in every game where there's a "death" or "doom" style spell.

Shin Megami Tensei would like to have a word with you... It involves spamming Mamudoon because you didn't level up your demons to get Tetraja, dammit.

And also speaking of Persona 3 I'd have to say my symbol of death would be the barrel of a gun. It's the last thing you'll ever see, anyway.

Generalised, the human or [insert creature's] skull itself is normally considered as the symbol of death. The grim reaper is just an offshoot of Thanatos (The greek god of death) while snakes are a symbol of cynicism, sin and the devil(serpent).

Plenty of people don't think that snakes carry negative connotations at all, as evidenced in some people's take on it's use in the Rod of Asclepius.

Eh, there are many instances where mythology declares snakes as "evil". Off the top of my head I can state:

-The bible, Old testament - Genesis.
-The book of the Dead, Ouroboros (snake swallowing it's own tail)
-Greek myth, Medusa - having snakes for hair as an punishment from Athena.

I'm sure there are more.

Throughout the entire video Death was present in almost every scene since history involved death but some scenes were influenced by death.
