Job: electronic engineer

Company: awesome, just glad I got I job I like.

To those who study: If you don't know what you want to do before you go to uni/college, take a year out working in your target field, then study!

At the moment I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Deakin University in Australia. I already have a Bachelor of Biomedical Science as the med school is post-graduate entry only. I love it, it's an incredibly challenging course with a stupidly huge amount of study and some nasty, nasty things (pharmacology, dealing with some patients) etc but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, I love what I do.

To support myself seeing as I live by myself I work part time in a bottleshop, mainly stacking shelves but occasionally doing wine tastings or registers. It's easy work, and pays well.

Med student. Cand. med. to be precise, which means that I've finished the first major exam, with the second (and last) still ahead.

I work in a video game store.
It is awesome.
I started a Sociology course at a very good uni last year, but it was shit. As in, the staff, the course and the people on it. Nice uni though. I'm sort of figuring out what I want out of life now. No point wasting money on a course you hate every second of and don't want anything to do with.

Currently I am studying for my MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) at Imperial College London. It's quite an amazing experience with a lot of amazing stuff that happens on a daily basis. Even despite the ridiculous hours and countless reading materials and exams that we have to go through, I wouldn't change it for anything. Clinical Skills training for example is something I always look forward to because it's such an experience to interact with so many people and get "field experience" at a hospital.

However since the MBBS/BSc degree is a six year affair (and quite taxing on the wallet) I decided to sign up for the military a while back, sort of as a poster child for the definition of 'juxtaposition' between medicine and the military but mostly because it's a paying job. I always had a feel for flying (or so I would like to think) which is why I joined the RAuxAF (Royal Auxiliary Air Force) and not the army. The training is intense, The sorties are exhilarating, and the pay is good, so I can't complain.

The whole RAF Reserves experience was fantastic and there was so many friendships that were made and opportunities that I got to experience which I thought was never possible in my lifetime. It is truly fantastic.

I work at my Tae Kwon Do centre. I really help them with their delivery forms/taxes and sometimes I teach.

It is pretty awesome as it is really good pay and sometimes my boss offers hungry jacks(burger king in australia) but I never have it. Im trying to stay healthy to set an example.

In-house Japanese to English translator/native English speaking grunt at a research facility.

I love my job. I get paid to translate wikipedia articles for our translation database. It does kind of suck because the amount of work comes in waves and I can go months not getting to translate because I'm evaluating data for the researchers (NOT fun) but I always get to use the languages I've studied, since it's machine translation research. The only thing that sucks is the yearly "Oh god are we gonna get enough funding" song and dance and the "be the pet gaijin!" things I have to do. All in all, though, I can't complain at all.

Why good sir my current profession such that it is might be classified as being a one airship pirate, if one must apply a label to it which since you are asking I suppose you must. Aboard the glorious former Royal Aerial Navy ship Moitessier, which I have of course modified most spectacularly to suit my new found cause. A pox on the queen, I say! Goggles down, cannons up, as it were.
Sooooo.... your a pilot ?

I currently work in a bar, getting money together to move away and go to college next year. It has its ups and downs. When it's quiet it's the worst job in the world. However when there's new/a lot of people in it's basically like getting paid to socialise. Given that many people from around the world (whether on holiday or contract work) come in I get to meet new people and as a result have made several new contacts in the past year that could help me out in future.

Oh yeah and I also work irregular and anti-social hours. Ironic considering the kind of job...

I'm gearing up for college for computer science, and as a grad student I'll do law. After that I'll probably work in New York.

I'm an Outdoors/Sports Instructor/Coach - teaching stuff from Archery, Air Rifles, Fencing, Sailing, Snorkelling, Kayaking/Canoeing to Climbing/Abseiling and other High-Ropes-y sorta stuff like Zipwires.

Love it.

Unfortunately, since it's more of a seasonal type thing, I'm in-between jobs at the moment, a situation which will be resolved by early next year, at the very latest.
