I advise not following that career path, its complicated and painfully dull :(
Ugh, I'm doing a Commerce/Fine Arts double degree and had to do a compulsory accounting unit this semester. It's... horrible...

So, full time student at the University of Western Australia, casual worker in a DVD rental place. Pretty good job, it's social and I get to rent games for free overnight.

I write for my school newspaper, which includes video game reviews (I'm one of the main beat writers in that field)

it's cool but obviously not a job where you do it solely for money

school is...well it's dragging on bleh

Cashier at Toys R Us. It works with my class schedule as an Art Therapy major. Once I transfer colleges next semester, I might try to go in and observe my mom's co-worker who's an art therapist. Hopefully, she doesn't suck. But it'll give me a general sense as to what I'll be doing in the future.

I work in a little bakery.
It's all right, it can be fun, but it's a bit boring, but I need the money.
There's a new clothes shop opening soon, I'm looking to get a job there.

I am a projectionist/desk guy at a local theater called "The Tower." They are a theater/video store that deals in obscure, foreign, independant, classic, and shitty movies. They are also one of the few video stores that is not plagued by mormons and one of the few where you can get uncensored PG rated movies and up, since CleanFlicks signed a deal with BlockBuster/Hollywood to censor all movies PG rated or higher to earn a "G." During the day I just rent vids to people, and we're allowed to watch anything from the store as long as it doesn't interrupt our job and obviously if the customer wants to rent the video we are watching we have to give it to them. We do a lot of midnight showings and I do them every other day. The exception being the upcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show festival, where me and my wife are going on stage to play Riff-raff and Magenta.

It can be fun, if you like movies. I often get into discussion with customers and like to chat about movies and make recommendations. Sitting behind the projector is fun and obviously you get to see free movies, and they show a lot of fun B-movies and Indie movies. I remember when they played "The Giant Claw," I was laughing because I remembered how fuckin' funny that giant Buzzard was and the people in the back row kept looking back at the projector because I kept laughing, waiting for that thing to pop up, and then when it finally came on the whole theater burst into uproarious lughter, but some people in the balcony still heard me.

I need a college education, but that's one of the things that the money I earn is going towards. I really want to be a cinematographer/director because of my love for the art of film making. I'm also interested in maybe being a pharmaceutical engineer, as I love chemistry and studying compounds. I also write in my spare time, and am working on a novel. If things go as planned, my main career will be the movie making stuff, but I'm exploring several options.

My heart goes out to you, providing a valuable expertise also ellicits my respect.

I work in a 'healthy' food store and am studying for my exams.
Ah, respect. The cool soothing balm that salves my burning hatred for wearing a suit and sitting behind a desk all day. Thanks for that, you've postponed my knife-wielding rampage for a few more days :)

Well, currently I'm an intern in a art museum here at my hometown. You know, 'cos I'm artsy and all that (not).

Seriously though, I couldn't find any "real" job, so I searched through a list of jobs and found this to be the most comfortable. On the bright side, it's an easy job, sitting behind a desk and selling tickets and museum merchandise to the few people that visit. On the other hand, because there isn't many customers, it can get quite boring, most of the time I just sit there...umm...monitoring, yeah...

Though I can't complain as I get money for that sitting and doing nothing. It's better than being home on my computer all day...slightly.

Edit: And this is only until my concription has to be done. And after that, I can start studying, again. Wohoo...

What Job are you in currently ?

What do you have to say about it ?

and for those that are still studying , Where are you in your education right now ? and what do you think of it so far ?
I am a Corporal Inspector Deputy Sheriff for the Crimes Against Property Division. (AKA a Detective who catches thieves and the like)

It's is much more challenging than my previous assignment of vice. (Burglars tend to be smarter than drug dealers) it is very intellectually stimulating for sure. I do hate having to investigate vandalism cases.

I'm not still studying but I have a Bachlor's in Criminal Justice and Psychology and a Masters in Sociology (emphasis Criminology). It was very difficult because I was working full time and took me 8 1/2 years to complete.
