I'd like to see a new space game like Elite 2: Frontier. One where space actually resembles space in the real world. Not some weird fantasy space where everything sits stationary on a 2d plane, where planets are no more than a mile in diameter and maybe a few hundred miles apart, where thrusting merely maintains an arbitrary max speed rather than accelerating, and where you can go faster by using your afterburners for a few seconds then activating "zero inertia" mode than you can by just thrusting in one direction. And please, no minefields, that's ridiculous in space.

I understand that the Newtonian physics of Elite 2: Frontier caused enemies to 'orbit' the player, becoming difficult to hit while posing little threat. I also know that most people couldn't understand how to fly, since if you don't stop accelerating halfway towards your destination, turn around, and thrust in the opposite direction, you'll massively overshoot. But I believe these problems can be avoided. The enemy AI can be programmed to avoid orbiting the player, while an 'auto brake' flying aid would make navigation easier.
