Hi there,

Was just wondering what kind of e-books you tend to purchase online, if any at all. Would be interesting to know. I usually buy internet marketing e-books or e-books that teaches me something or makes a certain part of my life simpler. For example, an e-book with 100 tech help guides is something I'd consider buying.

I usually buy books from amateur authors, mostly because They are often cheap or free but also because very often you find a little gem of a book.
Other things such as short story collections I also download fairly often.

I have a job which allows me to listen to things throughout most of the day, so while I don't read too many ebooks I do listen to audiobooks. At this point, my library is filled with mostly fantasy, classic English romance (Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, etc), Doctor Who radio plays, and I recently started the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I don't buy any ebooks. I'd have to read them on my stationary computer. Not happening.

I worked at a gunstore for a few years, so I have a lot of technical manuals on my Nexus-7 for referencing when I had to repair something.

I have a lot of books on chemistry, mathematics, and engineering for school from Self-Study books to academic textbooks.

There's a copy of Dai Kan-Wa Jiten, remembering the Kanji and Hana, and Genki for reference as well.

And, recently, I've been adding political, philosophical, and religious works when I realized how little I've actually read on the subjects.

I don't have any fiction, though. I prefer a physical copy when reading for leisure.

Lots and lots of D&D stuff
Everything by Erik Scott De Bie(this man is baller)
Erin M. Evans
R.A. Salvatore
Ed Greenwood
Troy Denning

Fiction&Horror
Guillermo Del Toro - The Strain Trilogy
Peter Clines
Stephen King

Lots of other Forgotten realms and D&D stuff, but thats what makes up my purchased Ebook library

I realize this may seem mostly low brow pulp stuff but my real world is pretty complicated. I like to lay back and enjoy "get out of your head" fiction.
I ain't gonna judge ya for it, sense that pretty well describes my tastes as well. Speaking of which, what are the prices for those books compared to their physical versions?

Most of them, just not textbooks or artbooks. I still prefer paper books but because of cost and space I settle for e-books.

Mainly strategy guides and game manuals... They're both free (to an extent) and usually aren't worth it outside of looking at the pwetty pictures...

Other than that, I mostly don't dab with e-books... Too intangible for my taste, anyway...

Depends. Books that are part of a series that I already have part of in Hard/paperback I will continue to get in print. New stuff I put on my Kindle. I like print books more but if I find a book I like while checking out Amazon in the evening I can have it 3 seconds later on my Kindle.

Anything I can't be bothered to go to the effort of buying in physical copies, or that I can't get in physical copies, or that I have the physical copy of in the other room but can't be bothered to get up.

But seriously, I'm trying to go totally e-book now when it comes to reading. It's mostly just a storage issue, to be honest. I have too many books I want to read and not enough shelf space to keep them any more. So I've started getting new books in e-book format and even in some cases getting rid of my physical copies and getting e-book versions just so I don't have to hunt through shelves that are now used for storing other things.

I don't usually BUY ebooks- bear with me!

Most of the ebooks I get are classics that are old enough to be royalty free (Shakespeare, Dickens, etc), so I get them from Project Gutenberg.

It's actually great for literature classes at my university, instead of having to buy print versions of stuff like Dickens' Bleak House, I found an ebook version and read it that way.

About the same most D&D new in paperback are $8 the ebooks are 2-7 depending on if you use amazon kindle or googleplay. All my peter clines, stephen king books are on audible(audiobooks). Those are wildly different some books are $5 some are $15 depends on if you have subscription sales etc. Googleplay kinda sucks because it seems like nothing I want is ever on sale and unfortunately in the case of new releases if its only available in hardcover thats what the ebook costs. So like the new RA salvatore book is coming out in a couple days, the ebook with will be $15 which is insane but itll be a while before its pirated or softcover so if I wanna read it the night it comes out I got eat $15(I will).

I have absolutely nothing against people who don't do ebook, audible, but for me as a mobile person I just don't have the space or time to deal with books. 90% of the time I'm reading a book while driving, working, flying. I use a Hisense Pro for my droid tablet and ereader. You can get them for like $50 these days and theyre pretty easy to root and mod if you wanna ...you know.
K, I might have to look into this, once I've got some extra money anyway.

I got a Kindle over Christmas, kind of disappointed at the price of the regular published stuff I read, so went looking for cheap stuff. Bought some '14 fantasy novel compilation' thing for $2 with stories from authors nobodies ever heard of and am just finishing up the last book in it. Some were bad but most were decent, and a couple I legitimately enjoyed quite a bit and will be looking for the followup books.

I don't really buy many e-books, I mostly just pirate them in huge chunks and then never ever read them :(
Last book I bought was Pressure/2, was based off of an idea thread in /v/. First book was total shit, didn't even finish. Second book was ok, had a good ending.
