What kind of games do you think are definitely not for the weak-hearted?

that bits only scary as long as you live, which I didn't the first three times. My picks would have to go to either Silent Hill 2 because of oppresive atmosphere and messed up monster design, or Manhunt for obvious reasons (those reasons being what you can do with a baseball bat in that game)

There was one scene in God of War 3 where you rip off a giant's fingernail and you get a closeup of it. That made me squeal like a little girl, I'd say that's not for the weak hearted.

Modern Warfare 2, specifically 'No Russian'. I don't get queasy very easily, but midway through that level I had to pause for a minute. Something about that level made me nauseous.
So you can't stand killing "innocent" unarmed russian citizens that could have been undercover criminals and were probably getting paid for sex and quite a bit of them looked like the guy fromm gta 4

If anyone remembers the infamous hallway from Resident Evil I'd say that would've been one for back then. Those dogs scared the hell out of me.
I hated those! When Resident Evil 1 came out, i was pretty young, around 12 i guess. For the first time i played, my mother actually sat down with me and "accompanied" me. She really seemed to enjoy the puzzles (at least a little). I was pretty scared back then, and i guess at that time, resident evil would have qualified. Same goes for Silent Hill, a couple of years later. I couldnt play it if my friend wasnt with me. We both were scared.
As for violence in games, i guess Gears of War would be my nomination. Its pretty graphic. As far as i can remember, L4D 1+2 werent especially gruesome to me, so i cant really understand why everybody mentions it.

2. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's requiem. If you know anything about this game I don't think I need to go into detail.
Ohhhhh yes. This so much.

I'll also second STALKER...even if it weren't for the creepy bits, the sheer intensity of it makes it a hard play.

Bioshock scared the pish out of me at some points. Had to pause the game many times so that I could catch my breath in Medical Pavilion.
Also while we're on a vaguely similar subject, can anyone tell me if the ending to Silent Hill 2 when
James finds out he killed his wife
is foreshadowed. I haven't played the game, I really want to and I just need somebody to say yes to that so I can do what I did with Sixth Sense and pretend I saw it coming.
