The kind that is good. No seriously, that is literally my one and only criteria for whether or not I will in fact listen to something. It wouldn't be stretching the truth much to suggest that I have a particular penchant for Hard Rock and/or Metal though, and the way my mind functions, I probably don't actually consider the music I listen to that folks would classify as "Rock" to actually be Rock, as I tend to reserve that label for music closer to Hard Rock than anything else, but ultimately I only care if it is good.

So considering the crap that floods our modern airwaves, you could say that I'm a very selective listener - good Rock is in short supply unless you are willing to dig.

Indie Rock, because my GF also loves it to bits!
Alternative Rock, because I myself need some 'heavier' sounds every now and then.

Yes, I adopted my Gf's genre of music, it's pretty damn good!

Well, pretty much the only band I listen to at the moment is Crossfade, and they play pretty much anything from grunge to experimental metal, and they also have two 'lighter' songs, which are still dark and grungy like the rest of Crossfade music, but they're in a COMPLETELY different style... one of them's just a tiny bit of piano, vocals, and drums in the second half. Very cool.

Heavy Metal mostly. In fact last week I went to a Twisted Sisters show in Buenos Aires.

I like prog and metla the most, but I don't care for death and black metal expect for Cannibal Corspe and Behemoth.

Or stuff like Mastodon

But also I like some alternative stuff.

But I'm a sucker for old heavy metal like Dio and Ozzy

And just because it's a great song throw in some Deadly Sinners

I have a fairly eclectic taste in music (Disturbed, Elvis, Maximum the Hormone, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, NIN, John Coulton, The Black Mages, Guns & Roses, Meatloaf, Tenacious D, Manowar, The Irresponsibles, Alice Cooper, Micheal Jackson, My Chemical Romance, Foo Fighters, Lynard Skynyrd, and quite a few others) but I generally prefer moderately heavy//hard music,
Right now I'm big into Lordi

I had to stifle back quite the laugh there. Nice one.

Personally, I enjoy lots of rock. Mostly, but not limited to, classic and progressive rock. I enjoy quite a bit of rock, and I'm always open to trying something new.

I also like the Lobster kind of rock. Eheheh... B52s anyone?

EDIT:

A little igneous, but I'll go for some metamorphic once in a while, depending on my mood.

EDIT: Crap, double ninja'd.

Classic rock mostly, ranging from the 80's on back. I've got no problem with the newer stuff, I just love me some of the older stuff.
The Styx to Megadeth to Iron Maiden to Blue Oyster Cult, etc. There isn't much I don't really like.
