Like the title says, altough you don't have to take 'long lost' so literal.
Just keep it at 'series that haven't had any announcements for a sequal within the last four/five years'.

Personally I would see a new:

Zone of the Enders

and

Legend of Legaia
(in the style of the original LoL, not Legaia 2: Dual Saga...)

How 'bout you guys/girls?

Sonic Adventure.

Yeah, there's new sonic games, but none in the Sonic Adventure franchise.

Where's Sonic Adventure 3 with new storyline and online Chao trading and competing.

That's not long lost. Konami are repackaging and rereleasing ZoE2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.129724#2818305] and Kojima has said that he wants to do a ZoE3 and already has some cool ideas for it.

Mario RPG. Even though it is only one game, and part of Mario, it was one of a kind, other than Superstar Saga 1 and 2.

Or
Vectorman. I loved that when it was on the genesis.

I personally would like the 2D Sonics to come back. The franchise died when it went 3D.

SON OF A BI...

I spent like three months to find ZOE 2. Ah, whatever, still glad I found it when I did.

I too heard that Kojima wanted to do another part in the series, but nothing official has been announced yet. It seems that many people on the E3 were asking him about ZOE. He simply asked back what they would like to see in the game, 'cause despite the decent reviews, they weren't really selling like Metal Gear Solid, especially outside of Japan...

Maybe the interest for sci-fi mech stuff has grown in the west since then?

Call me old-fashioned, but I would love to see the return of MYST as a franchise. I played that game way back in the second grade when it was new, and I loved all of the first three in spite of their respective flaws. I never got to play the fourth or fifth because of computational limitations (yeah, laugh it up.) but as a sentimental favorite, I would love to see some more.

X-com

This could be pretty cool if done properly. For the intercepting alien ships they could make a flight sim part. For the ground battles they could make it like a Rainbow six tactical shooter or even do something like Gears of War. Actually they could do something similiar to the VATS system from Fallout 3 if they wanted to keep the combat turn based. And of course include all the research, base building and management, and international politics.

Of course I don't really trust any game company today to pull this off. It would probably just end up being a Halo or GoW clone with the X-Com title slapped on.

It is possible to make a good remake of a good franchise. You just keep the same basic game play of the original and give it a graphic update. Example Sid Meier's Pirates.

I second this motion.

I would also like to see an Illusion of Gaia remake.

The paper mario series is the spiritual successor, and it's where the games got their inspiration.

Ahem. I mean...I wouldn't mind a new Monster Rancher, that was amusing for weeks...and by amusing, I mean almost annoyingly addicting. Plus, it'd give more merit to those..."CD"things...that I've been hearing about.
Or, screw that entirely, and just bring MP3s into it.

Transport Tycoon.
Done properly, true to the oldschool feel!
A Transport Tycoon remake would be awesome! I also kinda miss the old Indiana Jones point-and-click games.
