It's actually all of the above, they all have to be present but it is the way they interlink (preferably seamlessly) that makes them "great"

1. Gameplay - This is the most important because if it has crappy controls, then I won't want to play it. My games need to be smooth and have perfect sensitivity or I won't play it.
2. Storyline - I've always loved the way that Half-Life 2's story meshed so well with the game itself. I like games that have interesting and intelligent stories.
3. Sound - This is important because having fake sounding gunfire loses immersion and loses it fast.
4. Multiplayer - Multiplayer is good because it makes games re-playable. Not all games need multiplayer though.
5. Graphics - This doesn't really matter to me at all because I can play games from the 90's and games that just came out and all of the above matter a whole lot more. I don't like Call of Duty 4 and it has shiny polished graphics, but I'm in love with Deathmatch Classic and it came out 9 years ago.

Obviously, but he's asking in what order do the elements come in importance.

i think that if a game pulls off any of the five well enough, the rest can be unneeded. although it would have to be pretty freakin good to do so. although i have to say that story, immersion, ingenuity can make or break a game for me. good story sucks me in for days, same with an open world or a game that is just out of the ordinary (like Rez. WHAT THE F%*K WAS GOING ON?!?!?)
