All those "You know you're a kid when..." threads. They're everywhere.
Oh, and remembering that I was sentient during the millennium. So long ago...

One of the things that makes me feel old...despite being 16, is remembering growing up playing the original Super Mario World, Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokemon Red.

I was genuinely asked by one of the people in my English class what I was talking about when I spoke about the old Nintendo where you used to be able to phone them up and ask for tips for their games. Another of the girls (she wasn't incredibly bright in the first place) decided to argue that there weren't any 2D Mario games...that made me feel old because I had to explain all about the Sega Megadrive and the NES.

Pokemon gets me simply because I have a 7 year old cousin who frequently boasts about his Pokemon Pearl feats, and I keep saying how "in the good old days" when I could name all the pokemon (don't laugh, there are some of you who could) and then how bored and unimaginative the creators are getting by releasing countless evolutions and prevolutions.

it has been written before but

my cd player

vhs tapes

an old cheats book

memories of a world without the mobile phone(likewise with the mp3 player)
the xbox 360(and the other next gen consoles, just the fact that i call them next gen), by

that i remember buying games for the ps one

related to the prior; every time i see a light gun(not that often)
usb keys(flashdrive sticks) especially when i saw a 16gb one in the store the other day, and i remember that having even one gig was like wielding zeus's lightning

memories of a time when smoking indoors was commonplace instead of the almost compulsive "must destroy smoking" robot behavior of today (then again i didn't smoke back then, except for the penultimate year of the "smoking time" and boy did i enjoy that

memories of when the discovery channel actually showed documentaries instead of reality shows
a world before reality shows and talent shows

Me and another friend (22, like me) were out drinking and some young girls started screaming about as many do. Both of us start tutting. The convo then carried on kinda like this:

"God, do they ever shut up? People could be trying to get some sleep"
"Yeah, some kids just don't give a damn"
"Hey mate, I just realised..."
"Yeah?"
"We're fucking OLD!"
"OH GOD NO!!"

*silent, thoughtful drinking*

My age.

That and I pay much closer attention to hemorrhoid commercials.

"Wow! It relieves the burning and the itch!"

I mentioned it in passing on a thread: seeing a game on one of those "what was your first X game" threads here on the Escapist that came out when I was an adult. Also, like the OP, hearing '90s music on an oldies station but that's more a "holy shit, how time flies" than a "holy shit, I'm old" thing.
