What makes you Happy?

My bestfriend makes me laugh and smile everytime i speak to her so she's both short term and long term happy. What makes me really happy is for some reason freshly made bed and coffee. I live for that yummy stuff.

Whenever I think of her, I want to smile.
Which is pretty weird, because my feelings for her are entirely platonic.

This is totally new, however.
Before her, nothing made me happy.
I was too busy brooding, you see.

If your anything like me it started out as friends...and i was brooding over some skank that shot me down and started rumors about me being a pedophile....anywhoo. She was always there for me as long as i Can remember then when Summer came we Didn't talk or see eachother then at orientation For Grade 11 i saw her and we started talking and every time we spoke it put a smile on my face and only after she left to date some jerk off did i realize i loved her. well the ramblings of an old man have a lesson. Even now. 7 years after we first met. I still love her. And will always Love her. Even though shes married and im alone when i think of her for the first brief moment i smile and remember. then i remember her Boy friend and how hes a dick and i get angry. Go after it before its to late. you won't know what you've lost till its to late.

It's not like that.

I mean, for one thing, she is not even slightly interested in me that way.
Feeling that way about her wouldn't be fair to her, you know?

For another, romantic relationships are horrible, horrible things that hurt everyone involved.
I like her. She's a cool lady. I'd rather not subject her - or anyone else, really - to that kind of torture.

"I used to have a crush on you but i thought you weren't interested so i gave up." And i haven't stopped Kicking myself in the ass since.

I know for a fact she doesn't feel that way about me. She doesn't feel that way about anyone.
She is both asexual and aromantic. And unlike me, she was born that way. I had to work for it.

But yeah, this is why I think romance is awful.
Even when it doesn't happen, someone is kicking themselves in the end.

Well, i used to think my computer games and music were all i cared about (besides my pets) but now i live to chat to my boyfriend or go out with him a few times. I also get happy when my college work recieves a good mark (of which i need to find out this week).

Although going oposite to what the thread OP asks, i also get unhappy with bad marks, not being able to concentrate and when everything brakes around me when i need it.

Watching an old movie or playing an old game that I have very fond memories of, like watching Jurassic Park when the T-rex breaks free god I retain my childlike awe for that scene. When I play Halo: Combat Evolved as a nostalgia trip I gotta say it gives me goosebumps and joy, I guess nostalgic games, movies and books are things that get me happy. Also I like it when a girl likes me and in turn I like friendly interactions with women more than men also I like it when people quote me on the Escapist because at least it means I said something WORTH quoting.

Finally whenever I see a Sangheili, I am happy face.
