I've been seeing a lot of depressing things on the internet lately, and I just felt like we could at least shed some light on the brighter side of life.
So, my fellow Escapist members, I want to know what makes you happy? It could be a person, an event, something you do, anything really. Just help make the internets a more cheery place.
All I ask is that you take this seriously.
A few things that really make me happy are this:
1. Seeing my girlfriend
I realize some people don't enjoy the dating scene or would prefer to stay single, and that's okay! But just coming home to see her smiling face and receive a warm kiss and a slow "I love you" just always warms my heart.
2. People enjoying my works
Last year, I had a bunch of examples of this. I was in Creative Writing 1 and an English 3 Honors class, both of which gave me plenty of opportunities to show off something and for people to look at it and give me instant feedback on it. A lot of people seemed to enjoy my poems, short stories, and all that jazz whilst I was in Creative Writing. But in English 3 Honors, it was just awesome. I always had essays that got the point across really well, but had a heaping dose of effective humor in them as well. And when I had to give a presentation on how the Great Gatsby is similar to Grand Theft Auto IV, I got an applause and was just teaming with happiness by the end.
Your turn, guys!
