What makes me rage is hollywood, da media(ALL of it), people who hate the country they live in(only in the Western Euro-North American vicinity), picking on Americans for being Americans, attacks on religion, the elitist attitude, stereotypes. Self-entitlement just because of race, gender, sexuality, age, country et cetera. People who say the '60s was the best time to be alive....those beatles albums. But other than those little things nothing. I don't rage ;)
Why do attacks on religion make you rage? From my point of view, all ideas should be open to criticism.
There is a difference between attack and criticism. The attacks that make me "rage" are the ones who give people crap just for their religion.
Ah, ok. So, more accurately, you rage because of attacks on the *religious*, not so much the religion.
Thanks for clarification.

I like to think of myself as a 20th century history buff, and whenever I hear something along the lines of "The US saved Europe's ass in WW2" I want to bash my head against a wall.

And anything involving the common US perception of the Cold War (Russia BIG EVIL BAD SCARY COMMUNISTS GENOICDE AND OPRESSION EVERYWHERE DURRRRRR USA USA USA FREEDUMB NUMBER WUN)

So friends, what makes you rage?
Sounds like you're not an American. Nah, but I know what you mean. Us Americans love any history that makes us look cool, we'll even change things to make us look cooler.

At the moment and I don't feel like getting into a huge political debate right now, but people hating on Obama. He's gotten a record amount of stuff done with a record amount of opposition from Congress, meanwhile every Faux News personality is quick to insault him and dircredit him.

Exampley says:
"Obama didn't Kill Qaddafi, the Libyans did"
First off you're an idot. Months before NATO support of the uprising, everyone including you my imaginary example friend, criticized Obama for getting involved. France and all the other countries getting involved said that they wouldn't do anything unless America got involved.
Let's fast forward to an hour or so before the death of Qaddafi. The Qaddafi convoy is escaping is home town and booking it for the border, when KA-BOOM. Oh shit what was that? It looks like an AMERICAN DRONE STRIKE. Now rebels are on their way to mop up whatever's left.
You're just mad, because not a single American soldier was killed or deployed.

Exampley says:
"Obama didn't kill Osama, Bush did"/"Obama didn't go far enough when killing Osama, I would have used a drone strike"
Bush didn't give a FUCK about Osama. I can find you footage of Bush at a press confrence SIX MONTHS after 9/11, where he said that he just didn't see Osama as a big problem any more and is calling off the hunt.
All the intel and everything we gathered a side, you are seriously saying that you'd bomb a complex on PAKISTANI soil, which is only yards away from a military base?! Exampley (actually quoting McCain this time) you're retarded, next quote.

Exampley says:
"Obama has done nothing for the economy"
The economy blew up right after BUSH! If there has ever been an undenable example of why 'Reaganomics' or whatever doesn't work, it'd be this. After 10 years of cuts and deregulations, the economy finally couldn't take it and blew up. It was the actions that deregulation allowed and the lack of action that the tax cuts were suppose to allow that cause the crash of the economy.
No honest economist will disagree that Obama's stimulus saved the economy--albeit not a total fix but a start.

Exampley says:
"Obamacare TROLLOLOLOLOLOL"
As far as I know (and I've done only minor searchs into this) every first world country has some form of health care. That's all I'm going to say right now.

Exampley says:
"Obama is a Kenyan not an American"
Obama was born in Hawaii, I saw his house and the TCBY were he work as a teen while I was there. McCain was born in GUAM. Now Guam is a territory, and there's nothing wrong with that, but come on, at least Obama was born in a state.
I hate you Exampley.

I'm against criticizing the president. My loyalty is to the ideals of my country, not the men elected to lead it. It's completely appropriate to criticize these men to keep them in check, but be fair, criticize the stuff that makes sense.

The WW2 thing mentioned at the beginning really gets my goat too. Then there's people talking about how the Civil War was just about slavery and nothing else.

Also, at this particular moment, I'm raging because I just had to watch the most goddamn frustrating episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with my sister. >_> For those who've seen the series, the episode is "Wild at Heart". Way to screw up the most consistently likeable character, Joss Whedon. Yeah. This series has this "rage" effect on me quite a bit over its course, come to think of it.

You know, those are all good issues and I agree he could have done more. Especially with education; not so much NASA, though it'd still be nice to have them around (I'm the worst nerd ever, I know). The unfortunate thing is that a lot of those issues aren't the big ticket issues. There's also only so much he can do.

My hope is that he gets re-elected, whether or not that makes sense. But, most of the time Presidents get all the stuff done that they wanted to get done in their second term, because they don't have to worry about getting re-elected.

Adding to this list now that I'm not quite as dead tired:

-People considering religious people stupid just because they're religious
-Extremist religious people who make everyone in that religion look bad
-People who are too stupid to realize that a few extremists in a religion don't make everyone in that religion bad
-Hypocrites

I know, nothing original, haha.

If they just took G. Washingtons "Re-election be damned!" attitude, people will like them enough to re-elect them FOR a second term. I didnt "vote" for him in 2008, I "voted" for McCain. But, I will say, I will give Obama an 89% for effort. He isnt the only one who screwed up. So did most of congress, and I will hold them accountable for that to. But, as it stands now, he has failed to turn things around (again, not all his fault) and by my values, that means he has to go, and heres hoping that the one who replaces you does better. But again, Congress is being held accountable in my book to. I looked up the voting record of my Reps and Senators (6 and 2 respectivly), and out of them, 2 reps and 1 senator have failed in my books, because while they all 8 disliked Obamas policies and voted against them (with is totally understandable) the 3 failures disliked him enough to perpetuate the near-gov shutdown. Sorry ladies and gents, but that crap will not fly. X(
Now, heres hoping that at least 51% of Kansans agree with me on our Reps and Senators, and 51% of Americans agree with me on Obama.

It'd be great if Presidents took the whole "live fast and die young" approach, but there's probably more to than that. You can probabaly also get more done in eight years than four. The reason, that I imagine, is why more people don't go all in in their first term is because they need to keep some of the moderates on their side, and controversal issues don't always win them over.
For me, Obama is the lesser of two evils. I'd rather have him over anyone else. But may the best man win.
You also reminded me, I should see what my California reps and Senators have been up to.

The idea that there is objective "evil" out there is still laughable to me. "Evil" is subjective and mostly varies from culture to culture. There are very few universal "evils". A lot of people consider your ridiculous health care system "evil" but we don't invade you over it.
I know, and I dont use the word "evil" lightly, only in the case of objective evils. Like, The Nazies were objectively Evil (unless you are a neo-Nazi scum), Stalin was Evil, Saddam was Evil. But the kind of evil I am talking about is thankfully extremely rare.

Wait what? How does the Holocaust justify anything? I mean, how much ethnic cleansing has gone on in the past century? They don't all just get their own land and the rights to kick off whoever else was there, then discriminate the fuck out of them, create and extremist state and start killing kids.

Wait I think I got off message.
It doesnt. Again, I want them to live in peace with the Palistienans, find some way to share the land, mostly because I think the jewish people deserve to be treated better after what happened to them in WW2, but also because now, it would be too late to move. But I think that we should help the victiems of Genocide, or Ethnic Cleasning, or what ever the heck the UN calls it now so they dont have to uphold thier promise to stop genocide. I know that the Kurds in Iraq loved us and viewed us as liberaters and saviors, and I support the idea of a Kurdish state...too bad that would take land from Turkey, Iraq, and a little of Russia.

So the geographical considerations are actually cultural and not geographical? Weird.
No, how the region is determained IS geographical, and two regions can be geographically similar. I was refering to a region that was CULTURALLY similar though. For instance, the Midwest is like the polar opposite of the West Coast (usually) when it come to Culture, but the West Coast is similar to the Northeast. In the same way, The South is Similar to the Midwest.

I probably wouldn't be. I heard if you mention the Wizard of Oz over there you get punched in the face. But I'm sure Alabama gets made fun of more.
Not exactly punched, but more "Ugg. *facepalm*" I know that one time, my mom actually went to a middleschool administrators confreance in Georgia, and another principal there, when she found out she was from Kansas, started asking her questions like she just jumped off a magical tornado from Oz. Although, there is one town nearby that claims to be the HOME of the Wizard of Oz. They have a house on the edge of town with the wicked witch crushed under it, Oz themed stores, the whole nine-yards. So they might not be to ashamed of it.

We sure do.
Who is "we" if you dont mind me asking.

Woah, your hatred of the US is coming through a little strong there.

I guess we deserve it, we do get a lot of attention. Plus we always joke about Canada just being our "hat" or "backyard" or "little brother".

Homo Sapiens /thread
When people fucking /thread themselves. It's like saying "that's what she said!" to your own statement.
Such a reaction was to be expected, but beside that I was just trying to illustrate a point and to provoke thoughts. Everything we rage about is others humans, their actions, their reactions, their creations, their 'mistakes'.

It is already saddening that we need to vent these negative emotions in often angered somewhat barbaric ways and it gets even worse when people feel the need to make it a public discussion, so we can spout our bile about the things we hate and the things that annoy us. Can't we just engage in a meaningful discussion about it? Try to look how it can be different and maybe devise plans to make it different, be calm and assertive instead of loose and aggressive. After all with such a stance you will not help to calm rage down, you will only incite more annoyance and or rage.

In other words, you're a primate living on a planet with a whole lot of other primates, who make mistakes and are often stupid. Deal with it without showing off how much of a primate you really are.
