What makes you smile?

There are a lot of threads going round like 'What really annoys you' or 'What makes you lose faith in humanity.' And the reason for this is that people love to moan. Don't know why, but they do. The thing is, moaning isn't very healthy and doesn't make anyone feel any better, so lets put a stop to moaning and cheer up a bit, eh?

So, what makes you smile?

It can be a noise, a person, an action, a smell, food - anything, just something that makes you feel good inside. My favourite noise is the hiss and click of a carbonated seal - or a Coke can, to be specific. Weekends give me euphoria, and I love to see people try to make a difference in a metaphorical ocean of 'Why should I?' and 'Not my problem'.

aaah.. Coke cans are nice.

I think my personal favorite is the distinct sound of a headshot in COD4 *PLINK* yea.. sweet. Also resting assured that tomorrow, I don't have to get up in the morning. That makes me smile

Sounds cheesy, but my wife sleeping. She always has this priceless look on her face when she sleeps, and I can't help but smile every time.

when it puts the lotion on it's skin

...what?

...stop looking at me like that!

fine, I also love my dog, Murphy. He's an adorable little ball of fur that never does anything but make me smile. Also, when things go wrong, I can blame him and his damn laws.

Smiling is my natural condition, so it's hard to pinpoint precisely what makes me smile. Annoyances are easier because they're short-lived.

That being said, I get an incredible thrill when I've just figured out something that was giving me trouble, like a way to write a difficult passage in my novel or a philosophical conundrum or a flawed script.

That was awesome.

I like the feeling of showering, getting into comfy clothes, and then laying down to sleep for at least 8 hours. Best feeling in the world.

That, or passing a virus via #2. Anyone who has experienced this knows that as soon as you stand up off the toilet you feel like a new man.

Being someone miles away from the city, like on a mountain, with friends and lots of joints. Can't beat it.

Muffins, Moon-Pie, Calvin & Hobbes, and the sound soda cans make when you stomp on them.
Calvin and Hobbes is the shit. I have every book including 3 that I imported from England. Nothing beats a good Calvin and Hobbes read.

That was the most wonderful glorious seizure I have ever had.

Smiles? Finally getting to meet the girl i'm in love with after being so (admittedly) for a year.

For me, nothing beats the sound of a good thunder storm, or watching a fire for hours on end, or explosions, lots and lots of explosions.
