I gotta say there are a lot of terrible and great stories out there what's your favorites? Mine is probably Metro 2033 and STALKER because Metro'' is interesting and STALKERS has so many variations to the ending

I love games that don't end. I'd rather wander around with nothing left to do that hang up 60 dollars that will probably never be touched again.

My absolute favorite game story? The Longest Journey.

I've played games with 'better' story than The Longest Journey, Planescape: Torment for example, but none I've ever played have had such an emotional impact nor the level of empathy I felt for the characters as in The Longest Journey.

The dialogue is perfect and the voice acting spot on for the main character, creating probably the most sympathetic 'hero' in gaming; April Ryan. Playing through the game you get the feeling you're enjoying a particularly good book or movie. Sure, it's cheesy in places, and as a game there are more than a few faults (The puzzles are some of the most ridiculous in the industry!) but the story more than makes up for it!

Now if only Ragnar Tornquist would continue the series. It still feels incomplete, and for a series with such beloved characters, it's terrible to not know how things eventually turn out.

Indigo Prophecy: The First Half. I loved the courageous perspective switches which had the players constantly turning on and trying to out think- themselves.

Best ending: The ending sequence to Mirror's Edge gives me shivers, for some reason. Maybe I like excessively close calls.

The ending of The Beatles: Rock Band was a very powerful moment in my gaming experience. The excellent song choice and the way they are arranged enhanced this. It really put in to perspective the fact that this incredible band are gone. I'll never be able to see them in person, nor will they release any new material. That really kind of hit home, the moment the end sequence began.

I know many will disagree with me for this but the ending in the first Kingdom Hearts game. Especially if you played that game on hard mode.

Its just. After you spend as much time fighting your way to the ending. Then taking out the end boss which is like a mini world of his own the cinematic feels so rewarding. Then the final end game music when it shows your stats. It was just so awesome when i completed that game.

Kingdom Hearts two was good but it didn't carry the same impact the first game had. Namely because hard mode for the sequel was essentially normal mode level of difficulty. As well it wrapped up the game with a little teaser of a note from Mickey. We know it likely won't lead anywhere unless Square is lying to us. Which is possible.

FF6 is another awesome one. One of few games that neatly wrapped up the endings of every single character. Even minor ones. I felt it was a rewarding experience.

Oh! Valkyrie Profile Lenneth! The A ending. I thought was pretty sweet. Literally. It was a sweet ending. Not like.. cool sweet... but sweet sweet.

My girlfriend is currently telling me Silent Hill 2 and 5.
