Not sure if this count but I sometime play Phantasy Star Zero just to play fate if I can get something rare and to mindlessly level yp. I mean I'm not focusing on those properly.

I would have to say Sengoku Basara. I even Platinum'd it, in a weird way im kinda ashamed of the time i wasted on it.

Hack-o-slash-o-button-mash-o type games so like...Sengoku Basara on Wii or Samurai Warriors on PS2.

Vanquish.

The only characters I even vaguely liked in this were Burns(because of his cool mech arm) and the Russian guy(just because he's evil and his mech suit is really cool) and the storyline was predictable and it leaves itself open to a sequel and one doesn't appear to be in production(at least to my knowledge).
But I still play it. Super speeding through a robot horde, bullet time shooting everything that goes past cannot be compared to much else at the moment. It just get's the blood pumping.

What was the spiritual sequel of QWOP called? GIRP? That if so. Pretty darn fun actually. And easier than QWOP.

I still really hope they make a sequel. Even though I'll probably be one of about 5 people that are interested in it.
Sorry for the offtopic, but you might not know, that they stated no Wet2 sequel will be created. They killed the project back in the day.

Good old Shadowrun. Nothing quite like fighting some of the best bots ever designed and kicking the shit out of an entire team of RNA :) Good times... I'm going to go play it now...

Black ops multiplayer is the go to mindless game for me when I want to mindlessly forget about stuff for a bit, that or diablo 2 every once in awhile.

Black Ops singleplayer. It's stupid, it's Patriotic Fever, but Operation 40 and S.O.G. still keep on pulling me in.

I was gonna say Call of Duty, but I kinda realized that Search and Destroy in Modern Warfare 2 (if you don't run into Danger Close Noob tubes), is actually a thinking mans game.

I have found myself playing a lot of the Just Cause 2 demo lately.

I take great pleasure in jacking a Helicopter, flying it to the top of the sky box, jumping out and then trying to get back into it and land it before it reaches the ground.

Not as mindless as Serious Sam or Doom, but I've recently gotten into Halo Reach's firefight mode. I've actually had more fun with it so far than on my second playthrough of Human Revolution.

Also, someone else mentioned Pokemon. Not sure if I'd call that mindless(it is an RPG, just aimed at kids),but I love me a bit of Pokemon, particularly FireRed.

Bayonetta... I find the terrible dialog entertaining, and mindlessly killing angels is good fun :p

Doom, Serious Sam, or Painkiller. I love playing games where the main premise is something along the lines of "Those are demons, here's a chainsaw, kill everyone."
I'm with this guy

when I'm in the mood to brain my way through, I go play Ultima 4 or Deus Ex

but when I'm in the mood for just "fuck everything", I go to my 90s collection

hell, right now I'm giving the Quake expansion "Scourge of Armagon" a playthrough

fucking robotic scorpions man

I love me some mindless games. Serious Sam HD, Painkiller, Doom, Just Cause, Dead Rising. The list goes on, I can play these games for ages just enjoying the simple gameplay even with its flaws. What bothers me is a mindless game with the pretense of being more.

On the flip side I hate it when a mindlessly fun game tries to act like it's more than that or just blatantly tries to snuggle up with the big shooters of the day, I'm looking at you Duke Nukem Forever, yes YOU with all your wannabe COD/Halo gimmicks and your stupid cutscene narrative, 2 weapons at a time, regen health grey/brown slow as hell movement stuff!

Oh some non FPS titles to add now. Streets of Rage 2 (especially on co-op) Gunstar Heroes, Saints Row 2 and to some extent Super Meat Boy.

I go here [http://www.kongregate.com/shooter-games] when I want brainless twitching. The Endless Zombie Rampage games usually satisfy that itch rather quickly.

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix.

I don't know, something about it is oddly engrossing and clever to me, even though I rarely play any game like it.
