Ok so, I have been off of online games for...a while I guess you could say.

Jumped on SD Gundam just for an event but that was about it.

Could anyone recommend me some MMO games that I could play? Cause I'm kinda of sick of...well, something.

I used to play FFXI like crazy about two years ago. I have the collectors edition of FFXIV the day it came out but my computer couldn't handle it, so it's a bust until I can fix my desktop.

Seen some stuff for Guild Wars 2 and got to say that it looks really nice.
I really liked the beta of Phantasy Star Online 2, so I'll probably jump onto that when it comes out, if I can.

Anyone have an online game to recommend? I need something to play/enjoy/kill time with.

Meh, then I got nothing to worry about, I played FFXI on and off for years!

Some of the MMORPG's I played ended up with me uninstalling it because I couldn't really get into it.

But I really need something to play, I'm just so bored.

No protection for you!

Nah, I tried playing WoW...I...I couldn't do it. It seemed a little...TOO time consuming to me.

Maybe I could try it again...or not...

well it is free up to level 20 now, so you could try it out for FREE!!!
or you could wait for the Elder scrolls MMO that looks promising.

None. Play games that are worth your time.

Yes, that means artsy-fartsy indie titles, MGS2 and Ico, but I'm also reffering to PvP experiences far less brain dead than that typically found in an MMO. Shooters are a decent example, fighters are a better one. Fighters especially are in quite the golden age right now.

I've really been enjoying Star Wars: The Old Republic - I still have an active subscription and log on pretty regularly. Each class has their own awesome storyline filled with great characters and writing. And who doesn't love Star Wars?

As a WoW player, I'm telling you to stay away. Not because its a bad game (its actually a good mmo, probably the best still) not because it CAN be time consuming (only idiots destroy their lives to schedule around the game and have the balls to blame the game) but because it was a thing of the moment. Unless you have some stake in it already then its not worth it.

I would wait for Planetside 2 (mmofps) or Guild Wars 2. Honestly though, mmos aren't a genre that are required, because so many things are online. SO MANY THINGS. In fact, like, 90% of my steam games are online based. I know people think of mmorpgs when they think of mmos, but its not the case.

Honestly when people say "oh they take your life away" just ignore them. Most mmos have a lot of content, but nobody is forcing you to take things at anything besides your own pace by force. If you want to play competitively then its entirely on you, and staying up to date is going to require time, but not necessary. I play WoW (and did play GW, Swtor, Champions, DDO and Rift) for fun, semi-serious, not devoting my life to it, and still experienced 90% of the content.
