It's mostly music that gets me going, calling into mind certain moments from games or shows.

The biggest examples would be "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9O7O5ale-Pc>Plain of Frozen Soil," which reminds me of a very, very sad scene involving Makoto in Kanon (which was portrayed in the anime, too), and "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdzP5SF0We8>On the Moonlit Rooftop" from A Drug That Makes You Dream.

Nothing quite like
just barely preventing your girlfriend from jumping off the school roof at night, learning just what made her give up, and trying desperately to convince her to never try it again
to get the tears of anger, panic, relief, sadness, and love going.

To tears you say?

Rugrats used to be able to make me cry on cue. Specifically, this moment (9 minutes, 40 seconds in).

And there's a moment in Blue Gender (which is one of about 5 animes I can still watch and enjoy) where I broke down. I can't find a clip without some song attached to it, but it involves the main character Yuji getting his ass kicked by Blues in front of this little girl and her dog. As he's beginning to black out, he looks up at the little girl and stretches out his hand, and out of nowhere a Blue runs by and takes her. Then you see her dog walk up holding his collar in his mouth and he just sits and looks around for her. Its heartbreaking.

If we're including music, then Sonata Arctica's "Under Your Tree" gets me a lot of the time.

And the song "Tell My Father" from the musical "Civil War".

Quality isn't great, but this is a choir I was in performing the song. I cry nearly every time.

No depiction in any medium has ever made me physically shed tears, though a rare few have brought moist eyes and a lump to my throat. Grave of the Fireflies, A Drug that makes you Dream, and the the Half-life 2: Episode 2 ending are those I can remember having such an impact at some point(s).

The episode of Pokemon releases Butterfree. I have no idea why but it always struck an emotional chord with me.

EDIT: After I saw Click in theaters me and my brother went to a Barnes and Noble across the street from the movie theater and I was still upset from the movie (I thought it was sad damn it don't judge me) so I'm kinda teary and then my brother pops out a book and he's skimming it and he's like read the sentence. Well I read it and it has the word click in it and I start balling. What a dick. He made me cry in front of a ton of people in front of Barnes and Noble.

None. I've never cried because of a movie or tv show. Although Toy Story 3 is a close call :p

Futurama. Jurassic Bark. Caught me completely off guard.

Clannad and Clannad After Story. The most touching anime ever. You will absolutely cry by the end.
I second this. Also, Kanon.

The Super Natural episode were the racist, phantom truck (you did read that right) kills the people who were involved with his murder. When the old women starts to tell the story of how it all went down and what happened to the church... yeah old people crying always gets me. Seriously just watch the scene, its done so well.

Oh and anything where the animal dies.

The only film that has ever made me actually have to step outside the scene was I am Legend when Will Smith has to strangle his dog. Not only is Will Smith so likable, I love animals and she was all he had...

Recently watched Moon, that one caused a manly tear or two. I blame Clint Mansell.

Also, the part in Inception where Fischer meets his 'father'.

I recently rediscovered The Plague Dogs.

It played my heartstrings like a chamber harp.
