What movies are absolutely great in your opinion?

I've noticed a trend in movie forums. It seems that a large group of people are sorting movies into 2 different groups: Bad or Overrated.

Bad would be: Transformers, Expendables, Battlefield: Earth, etc.

Overrated would be: any movie ever favored by anyone, ever (most notably Inception for some reason).

Now, the movies in the bad category are bad, but I think that we get the idea by now, and we need a breath of fresh air.So today, I declare a temporary end to the negativity and ask my fellow Escapists what movies they consider great, or perfect even.

Mine would have to be the Dark Knight. Yeah, I know it's not the most diverse choice, but its a movie that I can and will watch again and again.

The Usual Suspects, not much more I can say about that. That movie is actually quite rewatchable for a new experience even.

I second this and also add The Last Man on Earth to that list.
Oh, and Hot Fuzz as well. Great film, that.

I generally find Simon Pegg's work to be fantastic.

That would be one. Great film.

The other bigguns for me are Hot Fuzz and The Shawshank Redemption. First one, because it is both the most epic and funniest action movies ever, the second one just because it is a damn good film.

The Bourne Trilogy and the Rocky Series I tend to watch over and over, so I guess you could say that I think they're pretty fantastic.

Inception is brilliant. It's well acted, superbly directed, thought-provoking, and quite original. I would be surprised if it isn't considered a classic in the future.
