Office Space

You can play as different characters and according to who you picked you either have find pieces of flare or destroy the printer.

Sounds like a typical 90s sidescroller lol

i'd like to see a good game come out of a movie first....
Goldeneye, regularly called one of the best games on N64.
Oh yeah, thats another one... don't know how i forgot it...

There's that John Woo game which might as well be based on a film, it does feature Chow Yun Fat's character from Hard Boiled. I've never played it though, so no idea if its any good or not...

GrindHouse (including the trailers): Come on why not?
Yes, I totally agree!

I think an awesome movie-turned-game would be an anime called Ninja Scroll. It could be a third-person action game where you play as Jubei, and maybe as Kagero and Dakuan in some parts. The Eight Devils of Kimon would make for amazing boss fights!

It's been said already.
Sin City, if it could infact be aptly executed with style!

Also my other choice has been said, 'Akira'.
I reckon they could keep it cartoony ala DBZ Budokai graphics, but make it a viciously bloodthirsty and dismember-friendly 3rd person style adventure//platformer//sandbox.

Mmmmmm if only i could plug my brain into a USB port and code a game with my thoughts.

I would say a nice Hellraiser game, but when ever Barker's name gets near videogame production, something horrible goes wrong.

Maybe something based off Event Horizon, Virus, and Bladerunner (yes I know it's been thrown out there, but i still love it)

Maybe someone could revive the old 80's-90's slasher genra, but instead of beating the bad guy, you are the bad guy. Being Vorhee's slashing up teenagers in the woods, or Mike Myers getting trick or treaters, or warping dreams like Krueger could be an interesting game.

I don't want to see any movie made into a game ever again. Why? Because it's pointless. No game has ever been better because of a movie license. If anything it's the opposite. Licences hampers the creativity of the developers and in worst case makes them lazy because they know the licence will generate a higher number of sales even if they don't put as much effort in. Besides for any movie genre there are a bunch of unlicenced games that are in almost every case better then their licenced counterparts.

Perhaps, but have you never wanted to interact with the world of a movie? I know i have. Sin City could work quite well, you wouldn't have to play as one of the film/comic characters, maybe as a new character who happens to have their own story interweaving the main ones (i think this is why Bladerunner worked so well, personally, but thats just my opinion, natch.)

Godfather, proof that games can become good, even if not earth-shattering, games.

Firefly and Iron Cross as already mentioned.
Also:
A Gamers Day *p*
Crank
Pirates of Carribean (done properly)
Salute of the Jugger (not really as a own game, but I think it could be great in a direct action Hack n Slay game like Rune, or fts make it standalone)

So long

Why has no-one said Equilibrium? If done right it could be class, and it pretty much sets up the combat system in the film itself. It would have to be done very well though to avoid becoming another Path of Neo.

In my humble opinion:

300- This would make for one of the best hack and slash games in all history if done right
Alien- I'm aware that Alien games have been made before, but not recently (all the recent ones have been AVP which, to be honest, have all forgotten the horror roots of the film in favor of being a sci-fi version of Counterstrike)
Planet Terror- Could be a laugh or seven
Slither/Shaun of the Dead- Both much of a muchness really

-the difference between mediums and the way stories are told through them makes it hard for me to recommend any movie take up said transition.
Well said. Successful games are, most often, completly original.

Ah, a Slither game would be fantastic.
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes would be fun too...
