just asking out of interest, im currently playing call of duty black ops (i wouldn't touch mw3 with a 10 foot pole) and am a very good player at it, as mentioned in a previous post i played competitively and while im only average in the competitive crowd that still puts you in the top 5-10% of people online, and i can routinely win public games almost single handedly and when i play with a friend it gets really bad for the other team

I also play rome total war (my current computer cant handle shogun 2 or FoTS in its wildest dreams but im getting an upgrade on Tuesday so i'll be playing those ASAP) and i'd say that im average, i can easily beat noob players and hold my own against most clan members (when were both playing for fun and/or are on a terrain filled map) but whenever i come across anyone who is good, in tryhard mode and on the grassy flats i lose big time, but im working hard to improve my micro and i am watching as many video's as i can in an effort to improve
(OT: if anyone does know any good RTW youtubers bar the prince of Macedon please let me know)

in terms of enjoyment i love them both in small dosses, Blops gets boring after a while because its a very easy game and i rarely get challenged unless i run across a group of players working together and RTW i can play but its frustrating playing on a shitty computer and i get bored when the only games i get are on the grassy flats against generic army's

what are you playing online ATM?
how good are you?
how much do you enjoy it?

/edit: also thought i would add do you made a conscious effort to improve?
i always do and pretty much whatever i do from school to kickboxing to cod i try and do to the best of my ability. Its also how i have fun and prevent games from stagnating, and lets face it everyone likes to win right? We can talk about playing for fun all day but humans are programmed to be competitive and everyone prefers winning to losing (although some have this more to the extreme than others, myself included)

I miss banjo kazooie nuts and bolts, as bad as the game was for the franchise, Giving you lego blocks with the sole goal of say " make whatever you want to play soccor with" and having up to 8 people make all these weird things and destroying everyone with them was to fun. I was really damn good at it to ;p

That and also miss chrome hounds. Do you want a mech with 7 sniper rifles, hell ya ;p

Been playing Tribes: Ascend lately. Lot of fun, but as to whether I'm actually good at it or not... hmm.

I guess I do decently enough. I know the various roles and generally end up somewhere in the middle of the scoreboard with the occasional foray into the upper tiers if I'm on a bit of a roll. But at the same time luck aside I've seen good in Tribes, and I'm nowhere near that level of play. I get the occasional blue plate special and I know how to fast grab a flag, but not nearly as well or as often as a proper pro can.

I started playing TF2 a few days ago, it is F2P so I figured why not. it's been a lot of fun so far.
As for how good I am... I have my occasional lucky streak but in all honesty I'm absolutely terrible at it. Whenever I manage to make a kill I get killed a second later.(Or at the same time)

I used to play CoD4 back in the day and I actually was pretty decent at that, I always ended up in the top 3. Although I also died a lot. I had no patience and just charged in all the time.

I play Counter-Strike religiously, pretty much 5 hours a week since 1.6 launched.

Playing for so long I am pretty good, although I don't always play it purely for competition, I played a lot of Surf maps, Climb maps and so forth back in 'the day'. Since steams launch and then when they started keeping track of stats (couple of years back) I average 2.3:1 KDR with a total of over 20,000 kills. So yea, I guess I am pretty good.

And.. of course I enjoy it, wouldn't still be playing it after all these years if I didn't.

EDIT: as for the added question about improvement, I don't really think so, I tend to just play and you pick up little things as you go, I don't sit down and watch professionals play and see their styles or tricks, I tend to just develop my own over time.

Counter strike and team fortress 2 are pretty much the only multiplayer games i consistently play. I'm usually one of the top 3-4 players in the servers, so i guess i can be called decent. I find that these are games that you just have to play awhile and practice with if you want to be good.

CSS - was decent, regular clan matches, leagues etc. Before this week, hadn't played in a few years, I now suck at it. Not a shooter you can just pick up and play.

CoD - good, but mainly because it's easy and most people suck. Hasn't been a game worth playing competitively since CoD4.

TF2 - was decent, but that was more fun and lols than anything else. Played in a couple of local leagues, but again, was more fun than serious business.

ME3 - haven't played in a few weeks, but was ok at it once I got my vanguard leveled.

LoL - not terrible, but not far off it, only started a week or two ago though.

Gears of War 3 - I level most people, and some give me a challenge. I blame moronic shotgun rushers.

Mass Effect 3 - I've done two successful gold missions if that is any indicator.

Any music game - I play all expert instruments(still counts as multiplayer right?).

I decided I'm done with Mass Effect 3's multiplayer so the gameplay doesn't get old and deter me from playing through the actual game more.

So with that, just Team Fortress 2. I've put in 800 freakin' hours in it and am just a baby compared to a bunch of people on our servers. I main as a Pyro with Scout and Demoman splitting time as my main secondaries. Though I play a little bit of every class except for Sniper...because screw that.

I'm good at TF2. I'm very objective-oriented, so I think I'm consistently a main contributor to my team. Though we have some ridiculously good people on our servers who put anyone else to shame, myself included. And we have a good many people who love to play a medic, so you have to be on your toes on defense (we play capture the flag).

Armored Core V. I'm good if I stick to my support role, flanking the enemy with a shotgun/chemical rifle/flash rocket combo. I refuse to use anything other than my lightweight reverse-joint AC so 1 on 1 fights usually end pretty badly. As for enjoyment, hell yes I enjoy the game. The Armored Core series has been one of my favorites growing up so it can kinda do no wrong.
