Now that I finally have free reign to listen to whatever the hell I want to, I'm listening to an album I picked up last night, Vol. I by the band Hurt (actually their 3rd album, but their first album after being signed by a major label).
I'd describe their musical style, but they make a habit of defying conventions and just listing musical genres that might apply would be a disservice, so I'll just call them a very interesting hard rock band and that will have to suffice.

...by the Danish melodic death metal band Mercenary.
Lest that description scare people away, I hasten to point out the album this is extracted from is the one where their dedicated growler had actually left the band, so it's pretty much clean vocals throughout - the fact that I like them (and this song in particular) is a testament to how they transcend their death metal roots and incorporate actual melody.
