For me it's mainly indie and alternative (Beck, We Are Scientists), with some heavier stuff (RATM, Be Your Own Pet), some emo (MCR, 30 Seconds to Mars) and some hip-hop/grime (none of the arrogant 'look at me, I'm so awesome and rich' crap though).

But at the moment, a hell of a lot of the current new music in the UK is awesome-haven't got enough money to buy all the albums I want!

YEAH! Dragonforce do the tastiest solos EVR!
Yeah I just LOVE mindless scale pounding on sped up recordings..

Man I hate dragonforce
QFT, and if you do not believe him or me, watch a video of them live...they Suck big time, they arent even close to whats on their albums/videos, just goes to show that they suck as a band
Its always a bummer if a band can't deliver live what they can in studio, but shit man, sound is sound. And if a recorded sound moves me, then I'm all for it.

Actually dude, ALMOST EVERY BAND is incapable of giving even 85% of the quality live that they do in studio, so if we went by you're standards, we'd only like a small group of acoustic or Dj style stuff.

Have you ever tried playing live? You can't set things up perfect like you can in a studio.

I don't mean to be a dick, and maybe I'm making too much of this (I don't really want to turn it into an argument or anything) but come on, be realistic.

The only band I've ever seen that sounded exactly the same live was the Adolescents. Even Iron Maiden and Dio were less then they were in studio. Not by much, but they were.

Rock, but a good score is awesome. So far, I love System of a Down, and the Halo themes are pretty awesome.

It'd probably be shorter for me to list the music I don't like: Crunk, Ghetto Tech, and anything ending in the word "core"

I can generally find something to enjoy in pretty much any other genre or sub-genre of music you care to name.

Metal or Rock. Not too heavy though.

Killswitch Engage, Static-X and Mudvayne are right on the border for me.

RATM, System Of A Down, Daft Punk, The Prodigy, Muse, Slayer, AC/DC, Sublime, Pre-Kid A Radiohead, Justice, Mastodon, 2 Many Djs, Arcade Fire, The Go! Team, Gogol Bordello, Slipknot...

I've got fairly eclectic tastes. I'll listen to anything as long as it's got energy and it's interesting. As long as it's not pop-punk like Blink 182 or New Found Glory. God I hate that stuff. It's the punk equivalent of happy hardcore for me.

Several times.

Dragonforce suck live not because they have a bad soundguy but because they cant play that fast. Its not the quality of the sound, background noise, fuzz or hum its the fact that they cant play the songs at the same speed as their CD live.

I would also like to add that I like country. I dont know many bands but I play in a country band and its great hah!
