Also, wouldn't it make more sense for the people organizing the funeral to decide what's appropriate for the people attending? It's not like you'll be listening...

But it's not their funeral, the music should represent you in some way, not just be what the people organizing the funeral happen to have on their ipod.

Where are you from, and what religions do you practice that would lead you to believe music is played at a funeral, let alone requests by the deceased?

I am from England, I do not practice any religions myself but I live in a Christian area, every funeral I have been to has had music played, if not chosen by the deceased then at least something that they loved.
