I applaud you sir. You post a counterpoint to hate-mongering. That, combined with your Kimahri avatar makes you a worthwhile poster.migo said:Rather than doing away with game types, let's talk about creating new game types, or reviving dead ones. Turn based first person shooter? Second person shooter? Space trading sim?
I think with SPS you'd have to do some sort of horror game. Like I think in Siren: Blood Curse you can see through the eyes of the zombies, it would be rather trippy to only be able to see through the eyes of the nearest enemy, and then to maintain a consistent viewpoint not kill the one that's closest to you while shooting everything else.Yagharek said:Ninja'd by the OP. A lot of games could be more interesting without gravity. Like how a shooter would become similar to the battle practice in Enders Game.
That would be a really interesting take on RTS games too. You're giving everyone orders on the battlefield, as yourself.THEJORRRG said:3rd person god game so you can see yourself while you make the earth with your almighty god-hands.
Like Ghosts & Goblins? One hit knocks you down to your underwear?comadorcrack said:I dunno.... Horror Platforming?
I agree with you, although I think it almost doesn't count as Unreal Tournament 3 came out 2 years ago. There's far too little of it otherwise.Ace of Spades said:I applaud you sir. On-topic: I would want to bring back unrealistic FPSs. Games where you can charge into the fray, guns blazing as an actual effective strategy.
Have you player the Serious Sam HD games on pc? They are very amusing old stlye fps games, complete with one liners!Ace of Spades said:I applaud you sir. You post a counterpoint to hate-mongering. The HDs were the first time I played SS and it was the most fun I had with guns in years. Damn regenerating health and, worst of all, that 'can only carry 3 guns' nonsense.Engarde said:Have you player the Serious Sam HD games on pc? I played a game called Savage 2, which had the commander and the rest as individuals. That was a grand game.CleverNickname said:FPS/RTS. One guy commands an army from above, the rest play special units in first person.
Actually... wasn't that done once or twice? Or something like it?
